Then do me a favor... don't watch the ROX play if you're going to pop anything... I am PRO humanity. Does anyone have money to pay for Lp's TUMOR?
Okay. The money does work out. If TheRealShady's trade was accepted...we would be freed of $2 million. Even though Kurt Thomas and Allan Houston or Latrell Sprewell make huge contracts...so does Kelvin Cato and Glen Rice. So the trade is pretty even. They get a good crazy center and a good veteran returning. And they get a potential star in Eddie Griffin...who can return to the East. We get a solid power forward who returns to Texas. And we get either Allan Houston who can score 50 points in a game in Houston. Or we get Sprewell...just a good player who can nail 3's.
I Would Beg to Differ The better pick up would be Spreewell. One has to take Houston's numbers this year with a grain of salt. Being the number one option with a license to score on a .500/sub .500 team, you gotta believe his numbers are inflated. I've watched the Knicks over the past 10 years and I can tell you definitively, that for the same amount of $$$, the better deal is still Spree. Why??? b/c Spree is: 1. Versatile... he's been playing out of position for most of his Knick days b/c Allan is holding his spot. Spree is in actuality a shooting guard moreso than a small forward 2. Got Intensity... something the Rox sorely need and Spree leads by example. Put him on a potential contender with upside and you will see his fire. Houston, on the other hand, is a wimpy soft spoken guy. 3. Better transition J... Spree is amazing in the transition... a very good compliment to the hard nosed, charging Francis 4. Ability to create off the dribble... Houston can't do this if his life depended on it. 5. Absent good shooting.. which itself is a risk when one CAN't create off the dribble, Allan Houston can fast become a liability. It's happenned in the past folks whereby NY fans have come to question Allan's worth on this team... it can surely happen again. NY will be shopping Spree... let's hope Rox mgmt is smart enough to pick him up. theSAGE
See...I was gonna say that but I am trying to stop posting. Sprewell is better than Houston. Sprewell can play both shooting guard and small forward. He has size. He can play defense. He is a leader. He can make bigtime shots. He has plenty of playing experience. He can score and shoot. He can pass. And he can rebound. I think he is better than Allan. And I still think Mobley and Allan are pretty equal in skill. Neither one is better than the other. But if this trade did happen...it would be great. For New York. They have more cap space and get acquire some good players for way less..they have a lot of big man depth. Their power forward and center position are solid and deep. Allan Houston can still be the #1 option. I WISH.
I am in 100% total agreement with KeepJuaquin And speaking of Juaquin, where was he this year??? Buried as a third string player? Did he get ANY minutes this year? theSAGE
Hell, of course u'd want to get Spree over Houston. That's almost a no brainer. ALMOST. Spree is superior to Houston in many a things, but when it comes to sharp shooting Houston has a slight edge. I'd really rather take Spree.
