Good Luck! Remember, dress for what you want to be, not what you are...

Wear something like this and it's a lock!

just an update....after the 1st interview they said they'd call back in a couple days, well they called back the next day and i had my 2nd interview setup for monday. went to it and it went well. they are now gonna call back in another couple days to get me setup with my study book for my exams i need to take for the liscencing. i have to pass all that stuff before i officially start working there.

rocketspimp....the company is ZoneTrading....zonetrading.com the website kind of sucks, but they have been around since '99. the large majority of the traders there, around 70%, are scalpers. basically that is a form of day trading where they become a mini-broker who makes a small profit off every trade. it's a pretty low risk thing, just fast paced. i don't think i want to do that, but i am going to learn it just so i understand how it works.

thanks for all the karma guys...i got the job so it worked!

Robbie what do you have to pass?

    Series 7? 3?

I know there's a couple more, but I'm not to clear on them.

I took logic in college and it was the easiest class ever.

    true and true = true
    true and false = false
    true or true = true
    etc. etc. etc.

    Never took pysch. sorry.

Yes I have, and there is nothing you can do to prepare for it. Just answer the questions truthfully and you will be fine.

If it is anythignlike the logic games on the LSAT, take a look at the Logic Games Bible for the LSAT.

It will help for questions like this:
n amusement park roller coaster includes five cars, numbered 1 through 5 from front to back. Each car accommodates up to two riders, seated side by side. Six people—Tom, Gwen, Laurie, Mark, Paul and Jack—are riding the coaster at the same time.
    Laurie is sharing a car.
Mark is not sharing a car and is seated immediately behind an empty car.
Tom is not sharing a car with either Gwen or Paul.
Gwen is riding in either the third or fourth car.

Which of the following groups of riders could occupy the second car?
    .
    (A) Laurie only
    (B) Tom and Gwen
    (C) Laurie and Mark
    (D) Jack and Tom
    (E) Jack, Gwen, and Paul

If Gwen is riding immediately behind Laurie's car and immediately ahead of Tom's car, all of the following must be true EXCEPT:
    .
    (A) Gwen is riding in the fourth car.
    (B) Paul is riding in the third car.
    (C) Tom is riding in the fifth car.
    (D) Laurie is riding in the third car.
    (E) The first car is empty.

Which one of the following statements CANNOT be true?
    .
    (A) Neither Tom nor Gwen is sharing a car with
    ........ another rider
    (B) Neither Mark nor Jack is sharing a car with
    ........ another rider.
    (C) Tom is sharing a car, and Jack is sharing a car.
    (D) Gwen is sharing a car, and Paul is sharing a car.
    (E) Tom is sharing a car, and Gwen is sharing a car.

If Paul is riding in the second car, how many different combinations of riders are possible for the third car?
    .
    (A) one
    (B) two
    (C) three
    (D) four
    (E) five

Assume that a seventh rider is riding with Jack in the first car, but that all other rules remain unchanged. Which of the following is a complete and accurate list of the riders who might be riding in the fifth car?
    .
    (A) Mark
    (B) Gwen, Paul
    (C) Tom, Laurie, Paul
    (D) Tom, Laurie, Mark
    (E) Tom, Paul, Laurie, Mark

    True story...

I had to take a math class for my cores in school.

They were offering an "Introduction to Contemporary logic" class to substitute for math.

I thought, "Cool", get into some Sartre, Blakey, Henry Aldrich...

    NOOOOOO

It was all what Mulder was talking about!

Failed it miserably....guess I'm not very logical...

i think its the 7, 57, and 63....basically its 250 multiple choice questions. lots of memorization of crap...rules, laws, regulations. good stuff to know, but still boring overall. i can't wait to get the book now. i feel like i am such a dork over this stuff now. i've never been so pumped up to start studying...lol.

they've also told me i won't be profitable my 1st month or for even the first 6 months. they've only had 1 other guy make money his 1st month. my goal is to be number 2. i'm not gonna let them be right. they ripped me long enough in those interviews when i said i don't think i would have trouble being profitable my 1st month and now i'm gonna show them who will be right. they lit a fire in me and now i'm gonna be working even harder to make sure i am right.

i'll keep yall up to date...thanks for the support.

I loved intro to logic. It was just like programming a computer in assembly language.

Don't tell more than you are comfortable with, but what is all this talk about being profitable? Isn't this a job? Do they mean profitable for them... or do you have expenses and work as an independent contractor?

you are only paid based on how much you profit. eventually they let you a $100,000 account to trade, but they start you off small...trading maybe $5000 or so. from the gains you make on that you get 50% commission. they have only had one other guy be profitable his 1st month. i feel i should be profitable based on what i've been spending my life doing these past 6 months or so. they were basically trying to take down my expectation level based on the fact that only one other person in 4 years has been profitable their 1st month. they told me not to expect to make any money for the 1st 6 months. if you go below the $100,000 level then you have to make that money back first before you start earning commissions. that is also why it takes so long to make money. they said most of the traders have night jobs until they do become profitable since we are only paid based on commission.

in the interview they pretty much belittled everything i had done up to now, which is fine because i don't have any profits to show for what i have done. i'm sure they have had more than a few guys with my confidence level come in and fall flat on their face. i tried to let them know that i knew at least a bit more than they would acknowledge but it didn't seem to matter what i was saying. so from now i will just let my results do the talking. i am still mad (in a good way)/motivated from how i was basically ripped by the CEO of the company even though i know she was just trying to test me and trying to bring me down because i guess i sounded cocky based on the fact that i didn't think i would have a problem being profitable my 1st month.

i know what i can do and what i have learned and what i will continue to learn and they'll find out soon enough. i've set my goals and i'm going to live up to them because i don't want them to be right about me when i know how i should perform and how i can perform.

    enough self affirmation and b****ing...lol....cyall

Be ready for a stupid question like how many quarters does it take to get to the top of the empire state building. If they ask it they want you to reason your way to the answer, asking for variables where needed, ect... If they ever ask you to move Mount Fuji. Tell them they don't need to move it, it's already moving, because the earth rotates on it's axis, and because the earth rotates around the sun.
