I too went to itt for half semester back in 2006 for the same thing your thinking about taking lets just say now im 9k in the hole and yes for only half a semester  . And i will be paying my student loan till 2014. Go to a community college way cheaper and if you ask me better education my teachers at Itt sucked. I strongly would reconsider spending your money at another educational institute and stay away from the trade schools they are money pits. Just my .2 cents

I went to it tech straight out of high school in 2001.

I was lucky and had some good instructors who really loved to teach.

I was a lab assistant while I went to school there and I really worked hard and studied.

There where lots of people in my class who slacked off and cheated but I was not one of them I really loved IT and was learning so I had no need to cheat.

Once I graduated in 2003 The IT market was still tough from the Enron crash and the market sucked.

I ended up working in computer sales for 2 1/2 years and was pretty good at it because of the knowledge I had.

One of my co-workers was a network admin and saw that I knew my stuff and gave me a shot doing network support.

Fast forward to now I am a IT Manager for a great organization.

I am glad I went on the path that I did because I met alot of cool people and got alot of Hands on experience.

But if I was starting from scratch again I would not go to ITT tech. There are many colleges out there now that have good IT programs. ( in 2001 there where not a whole of options unless you wanted to be a programmer.)

Back in 2001 ITT actually had a very well rounded program, I leaned NT 4 , 2000 , linux and even Novell.

Now compared to other programs at other schools they just cant match the price or the curriculum that other schools offer.

Back in 2001 I was very hungry to expand my IT knowledge and ITT was good option to do that.

But in 2010 ITT is the worst place to go to do that.

Im not saying its impossible to go there and be successful in your chosen field.

Hey I did. But if you are successful in IT it will not be because you went to any praticular school, it will because you have a passion to learn.

    Those are my 2 cents.

+1 for the "if you can't start out at a 4-year college, go to community college" route.

One of my friends started out as HCC and he's going to graduate this may as an Optometrist from UHCO.
