Actually, it's Scott Padgett's team. Except, you know, he's not nearly as good as a bunch of the other guys.
I think DaDakota is right. SF has been shooting fewer shots, and hesitating when he shouldnt because he is trying to get Yao more involved. Does anyone else think that SF's offensive production has declined due to him working so hard on his overall game? I tend think his TO's and FG% are poor right now because of that. He is uncomfortable. If he can get distributing the ball down (going through Yao) i think his offesive production will get back to what we are used to.
I watched about 25 Rox games this season and I don't seem to recall SF getting doubled up when he reached half court in most of these games. And Yao is getting better because teams are doubling up on SF? WTF. Troll alert.
Unfortunatly you are probally right. But in the previous 2 season the offense basically ran through him recently it hasnt. Many TO's came off ISO's and him driving out of control to the basket. I am hoping that he is just trying to adjust to feeding it to Yao is all. Granted he still cant seem to make an entry pass consistantly.
Well I would like to see all of you bandwagoners when Yao reverts back to his soft play. You guys are quick to jump on someones bandwagon after a couple of performances. Just a few weeks ago everyone was wondering who's better, Steve or Cuttino. Now some people here now think that Cuttino is the problem. You guys are full of it. As for the troll alert, I think not.
Well based on a pattern we are seeing lately, and from statements from Yao...consistency (in production) will be his main priority. We all know that he can shoot 50%, which can mean 5-10 (ten points). That's all well and good. But Yao knows that he must maintain his scoring average...17+. Anyone notice it edging up slowly but surely? Who here thinks that it will be at 18ppg at the end of the season (or at least 17.9ppg )?
The troll thing was uncalled for, I think. Regarding the bandwagoners, haven't you noticed that a lot of us never got off Yao's bandwagon since day one? We may criticize him, but that is a different story.
Well, so much changed when we landed the top pick last year. Man, we were so lucky. We take it for granted now but what an unbelievable stroke of fortune to have been able to draft Yao Ming. It's so funny to me because DD and I are at opposite ends of the political spectrum (the other forum can get interesting) but we generally see eye-to-eye on the basketball issues. It's nothing personal against Steve (although the forced passes and turnovers make me nuts). But I think he could be an Allen Iverson type of player, given the right team. That team is not the Rockets, not anymore. And I agree that Steve seems to see which direction the team is heading. That's plain enough. Maybe he's even reconciled with the fact that the odds are he'll be elsewhere next year.
Would you agree that there has been a steady, general upward progression in Yao's play? He has stops and starts... but I think anybody would have to concede that he's been consistently improving.
First you came up with some ridiculous reason for Yao's improved plays lately. C'mon, you can't be serious. I have not seen teams doubling up on SF at half court but you seemed to believe that SF was getting so much attention from the defense that Yao was left open to do his thing. I take back the troll comment. You are just a POS.
damn Dak....... you change your tune quicker than a politician in an election year..... flip-flop seems an appropriate name
Wow someone thought SF was getting doubled which left Yao wide open to get his points all these games??? I want to know what game that dude is watching, cause his tv must be tuned to some special Francis channel. Nobody doubles Francis in the half court or behind the 3 pt line. They only double him when he attempts to drive cause they know he will force up a bad shot and turn the ball over.
His scoring average after today's game stands currently at 17.45 (17.5), if Yao continues to get 15-18 shots a game (he had 21, 16, and 19 fga the last 3 games) he should easily finish the season scoring over 18 ppg.
No,this time he will keep his performance b/c he is more confident after facing Shaq,Kg, and DN, and at same time his teamates realize that he is the most reliable shooter in their own team.
That's it why many to's recently.Steve is working hard to feed Yao the ball, give him some time to adjust to the new system.I think co-role players can guarantee the winning of the NBA championship.
Don't trade steve. He is a good player. He just makes some mistakes. It is not entirely his fault. We should be happy to have both of them :yaoming and francis. It is not somebody's team. The team belongs to all the players ,all the coaches ,those bosses, and of course all the fans.
Yao's bucket with a foul with 12 seconds left in 4th qt came when Francis was being doubled. Just wanted to point out that Yao does get couple points here and there after his defender moves over to help to get stop Francis from penetrating.
