Let’s be a bit more concrete. What exactly does “prove himself” mean? I assume you’re not expecting him to be Joel Embiid out there. What is the bar he needs to meet for you to be satisfied with his performance?
Get lost troll! This is playoff time and only real fans are welcome. Go spam another board with your nonsense.
There are plenty of lame Capela hating threads to bump, this isn't really one of them. Nene was clearly outplaying him in the OKC series last season. It's revisionist history to say otherwise. Doesn't excuse all of the other stupid stuff he has said. Capela has clearly stepped up in this postseason, and in the season overall.
I'm not confident you do. The way you carry on, it genuinely seems like you'd be more satisfied to see Clint (and by consequence the team) do poorly, if it validated your opinions.
fair enough, that I didn't pick up on. good point about Jones. But I don't think anyone's necessarily just "overrating a first round playoff series." I think Capela has demonstrated his worth and importance to this team over the entire 65 win campaign, and even if he isn't yet the best center in the league (or never will be for that matter), the pessimism you've voiced about Capela in this thread is pretty much over the top. I can understand the occasional hyperbolic statement about this or that player, but you seem to have made a habit of zeroing in on particular players you don't care for and staking your entire reputation on your assessment of those players--and relatively early in those players' careers. I'm with you, I want you to be wrong too. I think that's pretty crystal clear as well.
Nene is strong, but strength typically does not have a high level of stamina, especially at advanced ages. Cap might be weaker, but his youth gives him more stamina and quicker reflexes. Both allow him to put on a decent level of defense while preserving the option for fast breaks or high arching alley-oops, which help make Harden and Paul so difficult to guard. You can't muscle your way into every make after all. I could see DeAndre being best of both worlds, but he's not on our team so maybe we just support what we got, eh? Especially when it's provided us enough to be the best team in the regular season. Aside from Pelis and 6ers, I can't see any team that Cap would be detrimentally overmatched.
First, love the bump...love to see fools/trolls made to look foolish You know with a name like “basketballholic”, you would think knowledge of basketball would be an accurate assumption. However you’d be wrong with this one...
I came into this season thinking Capela had weak hands and would be stripped and denied by stronger bigs. He's def improved on that and he's been catching Harden's lobs whether they're good or not. He's improving at the right time and Clutch's podcast noticed he had the mindset to take on the best in his position head on. That's a mentality you can't train...just like what he said earlier this season that got Durant testy.
It is what it is. I'm okay being wrong. It happens. Before his development, Clint couldn't catch the ball the post, his screens were a catastrophe ready to happen. His shot selection was atrocious because he could not hit anything out of 2 feet. Still, his development is insane, and I am a supporter, regardless of former beliefs. Check my record: I was wrong about Lowry, and I missed the end-game, the development with Clint. I was wrong, but I'm very proud. of him I'm okay admitting that. BUT....Clint is arguably "lucky' in the sense that James and Chris find him easy looks. No other teams have our backcourt, so much of Clint's success is based on our system. Without James/CP, Clint doesn't have these numbers. He'll be paid, but 50 percent of that should be recognized in terms of James dedication to give his big man easy buckets. I like Clint, though I'm not the biggest fan is his potential is limitless I'm not @basketballholic . I freely admit my errors. Just like @DaDakota with his DMO craze, we all make errors. (no offense, Legend DD) I'm okay with it. Also Tidbit: my "friend" has said that they have reached out to Utah to take care of business. Basically, communication of support and respect ot the coach and dedication to a team game with DOnovan. There is some bad blood between Clint and the Barbarian...Ears say that Barbarian makes comments that tiptoe the line of racisim. And, if it comes down to this, Ne will play a much better series. He has guys on there that he's going to use his positon as enforcer. Lastly, and this is not quite proven,' PG and Westbrook had a semi-intense-discussion where each on claimed that the team doesn't win unless one or the other has total control. The Utah series exposed their flaws. I'd prefer Russ shoot them out of game because, as even James knows, he's more of a selfish player. XFactor in Utah: Ryan Anderson/ NeNe in the paint against Gobert James Harden will have an easier series. OKC is a different story. Super Chippy. Jazz are taking this one though. Unless Ricky shi%s the bed. Love Ya'll.
Hey @Codman I love your posts and greatly appreciate every time you post and help enlighten the BBS. I am completely lost on this one. Who exactly is Barbarian? Also, how does the rest of the Thunder team feel about the Paul George / Russell Westbrook feud and have players on the team or OKC management taken a side?
