It's time to start Nene. Capela is killing us. It's obvious. Capela is so bad that he's forcing Anderson out of his role and he's hurting Harden. He's flat out killing us out there. It's time for you Capela lovers to acknowledge he's killing us on the floor. The poor guy can't even get the pick set for crying out loud. He's being totally whupped by Adams. He can't even fight past Adams to get the pick set. Surely you see that.......now? Not only is he hurting Anderson he's hurting Harden. If you can't acknowledge these facts then you're either legally blind or too stubborn to agree with the truth of the matter. It's time to give either or both of Harrell/Nanu a shot at minutes backing up Nene after he starts. We know where this is going with Capela. There's no sense in delaying the change any longer. When MDA said Capela should have some 30 point shooting games he wasn't kidding or exaggerating. When teams are hanging tight on our shooters then Harden and the 5 should be hanging a combined 70 on them. Capela has failed. Hes not going to magically be better the deeper we go in the playoffs. Whomever we play in round 2 has even bigger and more skilled bigs than OKC. We've got to at least get the pick set or we're toast. I'm sorry I'm right on this. But all the hoping and wishing in the world is not going to change our circumstances or Capela. He is who he is. Bambi, this beautiful deer that can run and jump and dunk as long as nobody touches him. But when a 250 lb body is laid on him he's basically useless. It's time folks.
It's not entirely Capela's fault, the 2 bigs in OKC are both stronger and one of them taller. Not to mention they are one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA in regular season. Give the kid a bit of time to adjust to this sort of intensity. The match up just doesn't work for him.
Why do you feel like you need a thread for this? A lot of us have said the same thing that Nene should start in the other threads. Oh wait, I see this evolving into another thread where eventually we discuss your ideal Rockets starting 5 Rubio Dinwiddie Thong Maker DoMo Josh Harrellson YAWN
Keep making excuses and pumping Capela with that "Not his fault" garbage. The bottom line is this. We have zero chance of winning a championship unless his minutes are severely curtailed.
Capella doesn't do well with thicker centers like OKC has. Nene should start Game 5. Once this team gets to the next round, the decision should be based on the matchups.
The Thunder have a pair of bullies, and he simply doesn't handle those well. He's been atrocious, luckily big d**k has been there to save us. If we can put this away, he should be more effective against the Spurs. Nene needs to play big minutes now, as many as we can get out of him.
Lmfaooooo. I've been saying this since the mid way point in the season. One trick pony with a very toxic contract going forward. (Anderson) I've been saying the same thing about Capella as well. Sorry. And will be the main reason we get bounced in the playoffs. @basketballholic we told them soooooo. These two don't have spot on this team. Not good fits.... sometimers.
I don't need anything. I want this thread to get a point across to hard heads like.....you. You are one of the ones that insists Capela is better than Thon Maker. Guess what? He's not. Thon, in his first season, has bypassed Capela. (And honestly, that's not saying much. That's how bad Capela is.) Thon took on JV and forced the Raptors to make a line-up change because he was beating JV. Capela is forcing his own team to make a rotation change, involving him being less minutes. This is two players passing each other going the opposite direction like two ships in broad daylight. The overwhelming majority of posters here have pumped Capela all season. You've refused to be objective about his play. No objectivity at all. Now we're in the playoffs and this is the train wreck that you knew was coming if you had enough sense to be objective about his regular season performance. This is no surprise at all. Harrelson, DMo, and Thon would all be an upgrade over Capela at this point. So keep preferring Capela sweets.
Every center we're facing is thick compared to Capela. He's not going to get better from here. This is the playoffs. Everybody's watching. Our future opponents are seeing everything. He's almost unplayable at this point. WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN GET THE PICK SET.....for crying out loud. Everybody knows what to do to him.
Capela will get bigger in the future but right now he is being overpowered. OKC is determined to keep our bigs from getting the ball. We had several turnovers trying to get it to Nene in game 3. Nene just beasted today with some clever power moves. Capela doesn't have that yet. This is exactly why we got Nene.
