    Nah, we're pragmatists.

Les needs to wake up and smell the coffee. We're drowning in mediocrity, and have been for quite some time. Lately, it seems like we've taken a turn for the worse.

Come Friday, I'm sure Daryl will feed us his classic spiel about "positioning ourselves to make noise this summer" and he'll prop up a rinky-dink deal with "we really like this kid, and feel like he's a nice fit here... was high on our board in the '10 Draft, and we've continued to watch him since."

Well than give me a GM who is respected enough to stand up to Les, or one that will tell the coach whom to play for the long term good of the franchise.

If you are going to lead....then ****ING LEAD !!!!

The team is over .500 regardless of what you say.

You don't know that he hasn't. So it is silly to make statements like that.

Morey is gone on record saying this is not the way to build a contender, but this is how his boss has told him he has to do it; so guess what, that's the order he is trying to fill.

I have higher standards than a team barely above .500, I want to see the team positioning itself for a championship run.

Think about this for a moment Garner. More than half of all NBA teams make the playoffs - that does not mean they are all contenders, now does it?

I want the Rox to be contenders, nothing less. I don't want them to just squeak into the playoffs and be perenial first round fodder.

I want a team that can stand toe to toe with OKC and Miami, and have a fighting chance.

Being a couple games over .500 and having not a single player on the roster that is someone to build around is frustrating.

We do not have a SINGLE PLAYER that is a MUST keep, not a single one that can develop into an ELITE player, not one.

That, is unacceptable, Morey takes low risks, sometimes you have to risk big to win big.

There is a reason we are not winning big right now, and are barely hanging on to the 8th spot.....and DM is in charge.

I am done with this thread, you guys know my thoughts....no need to continue saying them over and over.....

But it is stinking sad to be a Rox fan for me.

This should be our new marketing slogan.

Houston Rockets - Maybe we'll do something good before the trade deadline

We can both agree on that. For me it's like 2001-02, but worse. Back then I would have fun going to get drinks and watching Stevie Franchise. I find it hard to get excited to watch the games when there is no one that is showing any real upside. I was hoping T-Will would be that guy, but he is just a head case. Parsons can be fun to watch at times. Patterson has shown nice post moves at times, but the guy has no killer instinct and can't rebound. It's just blah.

The 09ers have not been able to get court time under 3 different coaches. They obviously are on a fast train out of the NBA.

Morris was a BAD draft day decision. Parsons/Bud look like a bright future at the SF spot. The right draft choice is now in San Antonio.

The team is about as good/bad as last season under a future HOF coach. Not lurches fault obviously.

Our veterans would bring a 2nd round pick each. Scola and Martin are incredibly deficient on the defensive end and so that is their expected value. They would have worked with Yao but are pretty much liabilities now. How many times a game do you see them in the butt crack instead of the jock strap of the opponents ball handler?

Lowry is probably our best trade chip, but I can't wait to hear the uproar when he is moved.

Why would you suspect the deal would be any different? They need a 2 guard and a center. We have a 2 guard and a center. They want to get rid of Jackson and Bogut wants out. And why does Ilyasova even come into play? Are you going to amnesty Scola? Or is Scola getting traded somewhere? Why would the Bucks even do that deal if they are giving up a key player in their recent run? That part doesn't even make sense imo.

And why are you bringing up Lowry and Jennings? Jennings is signed for another year on a rookie contract. I'm not sure what you are trying to say, if anything, in your post.

Reputable link, of any sort that shows that Les makes the roster acquisitions, and Morey does not. Just one and I'll never post in the GARM again, in fact I'll never post on the site again. You ladies coddling a grown man who has done an utter failure of a job leaves me speechless.

Most people that 'stand up' to their boss and blatantly do something different get fired.

As far as the season goes, I'll watch and love/hate the Rockets no matter what their record is. (Although it's probably gonna be somewhere around 33-33:p)

if the franchise keeps doing what it's doing...generating next to zero buzz locally and nationally...then he's going to get fired regardless.

I think we as fans and the team itself should take note of the Texans in the Kubiak era and how long it took them to finally find success and have a little more patience with Morey. I know the two leagues are apples and oranges, but the point is that it takes some timing and luck for everything to come together. Remember that we are really only in year two of the post-Yao era, and that is where the point of review really starts over IMO.

Morey is doing all he can do, but there's really not one move that he missed that would have put us over the top (don't say Lin) or one move that got us stuck where we are (other than Stern). It is what it is.

Still like McHale btw. He's a cross between Rudy and JVG to me -- former player and will ultimately be a player's coach but first he is instilling discipline and building a culture, which is why we've got some pissed off players (Martin, Terrence, maybe Bud) that aren't really fitting into his culture.

The bright side of finishing 9th or 10th is that we'll keep our draft pick, adding to our ammo of tradeable assets to try to move up.

I'm glad we have Morey, but he isn't god. He is the guy who gave away Batum so he could draft Donte Greene and Joey Dorsey. He will also always unfairly be remembered as the guy who cut Jeremy Lin.

Who said les makes roster acquisitions? Les hires the coach, with some weight from Daryl, I'm sure; but DM doesn't sign Kahn's checks.

To the Morey making moves in line with les' mandate- Go listen to Morey's interview with Bill Simmons on the BS Report when they discuss this very topic.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Yeah it's kind of sad when I see a 2.5% chance of something other than what we are watching now and get really excited.
