I would have to know what kind of trade value he has. I'd ask teams what they would give for him, but I wouldn't just give him away for anything significantly less than his worth.

What I'm worried about right now is that we haven't heard Francis directly make a single comment since this whole fiasco. Not an apology to his coach or teammates. Not a real explanation for his absence. Not an assurance that this will never happen again. Nothing.

I think he's seriously PO'ed right now and since Van Gundy decided to embarrass Steve publically, he's going to do the same and publically ask for a trade. If that happens, we're screwed. His trade value will plummet to the point where the only players we're going to get for him are the type of players we traded away for him (Othella & Dickerson).

Why would Toronto and Chicago do these moves? They are not, that I know of, in business to help the Houston Rockets.

If the Magic does this... then it would be DYNASTY in Houston.

Someone else came up with the same poll about two weeks ago. And the results were mostley "yes, for trading steve".
What make you think that this result will change to 'no' after he was suspended for one game?
Unecessary poll if you ask me.
By the way, I voted NO.

I am tire of defending Franchise time and time again. He needs to take responsibility for his own action.

I voted to trade him, but I am really torn on the matter. Steve is one of the most talented guards in the NBA, but his game doesn't seem to mesh with the offense running through Yao. I know he, at least publically, has embraced the system, but it has seriously affected his game in a negative way. I really like him as a player and our offense looked terrible without him, but it would be nice to have an assist-minded PG who isn't 47 years old.

This superbowl incident is unacceptable, though. I can't believe what a selfish person he is. Like he can't afford to buy tickets to every superbowl...this was his only chance...he really let the team down.

I would like to trade him, but we won't get anything in return unless we wait until after the regular season. If we could get an assist minded PG a la Eric Snow and another good scorer, we would probably be okay. But that's a stretch...

I am disappointed in Francis, but haven't given up on him yet. Many top players have clashed with their coaches and moved on. How I feel about Francis depends on how he responds/steps up to this situation. I'd prefer to move Francis to the 2 and let him play his usual combo-guard game. Then get a real PG to run the offense.

I've been Steve's biggest fan, but even I'm starting to see that he's not a team player. He needs to goto a bigger market, the guy likes the spotlight.

Time for him to go. Pains me to say it.:(

Im just really disappointed in our team's captain and "franchise" player. Think about the thought process he went through when deciding to go to the Super Bowl. He put himself above his teammates and his coach and he disrespected his owner and his fans by shrugging off his professional responsibility.

I knew regular people, ROCKETS FANS, who had tickets to the game and had to give them up because of work...(although, they did make a profit :)

Smoking a little weed, having a drinking problem...those are problem behaviors that are personal decisions that dont seem to directly affect the team in a players mind. But THIS? He CHOSE himself over his team.

Just because he's our best player doesn't mean he gets to take days off when he wants to. AI never intentionally skipped a game (practice? yes, but a game no) ......SF left his team out to dry and hasn't even 'fessed up. That's not the type of thing a 5th year player, and 3 time all star should be doing. Hes not worthy of our support, because he has showed the fans that he does not care unless it serves his own purposes.

It makes me really sad, but maybe he does have to go...because id rather have a Rockets team that im proud of when the time to win does come.

Give nthe two choices, and thinking about it from a business point-of-view: I would trade Steve at his current market value rather than taking the risk of his value depreciating even more (my assumptin is that I believe Steve has little to no future up-side value, or said differnt way, he has reached his full potential).

IMHO, this team has too many players playing out of their natural positions. My dream trade would include Mobley and Taylor for a starting PF and starting PG. Cato would move back to his natural 5 position/backup role, Steve moves over to his natural 2 position, and we bring in two more player playnig their natural positions (PF and PG). I am not saying we need super stars. Most teams on have two super stars; we need role players and quality starters which I believe Mobely and Taylor are.

I wanted him traded before this latest incident. Skipping out on the team to watch a football game and party did not push me toward keeping him.

Steve for all his faults on and off the court is still the most potent scorer on the team. We won't be able to get better or even equal value for him right now because of his immaturity.
We should keep him and see if he is willing to improve as a player for the team.
