I would love to have TJ Ford in Houston...but thats not gonna happen anytime soon:D We need a talented point guard, I still don't believe Francis is a traditional point guard. I still believe he should be moved to the 2 but thats really not an option right now

Trade Steve for Kobe Bryant OR Jason Kidd. Lakers are fed up with Kobe's situation and distraction. Nets ain't going anywhere.

You guys are so full of crap.

Steve is the best player on the team . (period)
His numbers are down this year due to acquiescing to the coach's wishes.
The last 4-5 games have been bad (point wise) but great (assist wise)

So he made a mistake. Big deal. He talked to JVG and asked him about flying in on a private jet and JVG decided to be a hardass and said no.

Fine, so Balky wants to make a statement about team and commitment, etc etc.

How about Yao's continued inability to establish position in the post? Or passing out of <gasp> single coverage ... Or having no blocking ability ...

How about Cat jacking up ill advised shots?

Look, there is plenty of blame to go around.

Steve screwed up ... There is no WAY we should trade him (W/O getting another bonafide allstar in return)

This country's priority is seriously F*CKED UP. So now Yao's inability to establish position (which he did last night) is the equivalent of Steve screwing the team now? If Yao played bad, Steve didn't even get the chance to play bad.

Some here also sound as if by TRADE, we're GIVING players away like the whole EG business. Maybe some people should read the CBA, that when we trade a 10 million per year player (5 mil BYC), we're pretty much getting the same amount back, with the exception of less than a dozen teams. We are not GIVING Steve Francis away, we are TRADING him away. I can't believe I have to teach a bunch of adults that.

Trade him for Tmac. Neither is happy where they are. It would be better to do it now than after he does something to hurt his value(a la Griffin). And I know it is hard to compare the two situations, but it would not be out of the question for Francis to handle things in a completely immature way.

Do it. Both sides will be happy.

I'll always keep the trade option open IF a RIGHT deal comes around. It doesn't matter if it involves Steve, Yao, or anyone else.

But, I'll not PRO-ACTIVELY seek a trade at this stage, because it'll be a lose-lose situation for the Rockets.

Other than the contract reason, I think it's only fair to give Francis at least until the end of the season to show IF he is able to work with the current system. DON'T bring the "Steve didn't change for the past 4/5 years" argument here, 'cause we don't know if that's the way Rudy T. wanted him to play. IF that's the case, then this will be the first time where he IS ASKED to play a certain way which is different from what he's been playing in the past FOUR(4) YEARS. Has he been trying to fit into the JVG system? Yes! Has he played up to his MAX contract level? No! But the fact is it's only half a season, we need to give him, the coaches, and his teammates more than that to work things out. We can speculate the end result, but you'll never know if you don't give them the chance to try.

So my vote is No to seek a trade; YES if a right deal comes around.

I simply believe that Steve is not 'the one' we needed.
But I also believe Yao can only be a star player instead of the team captain.
We need someone else. We are fooled and cheated by Steve for four years. Time to make some decisions.

Steve is the last person that I would trade from this team.

all JVG wants out of his PG is to pass the ball, play D, and hit an open shot. we shouldnt pay $12M a year for that. we are better off trading him for a foward who can score and play D.

    I said don't trade Steve.

I live in LA and when Shaq and Kobe kept getting swept in the playoffs everyone wanted o trade Kobe away. But look what happened to them.

Very few teams in the NBA have one franchise player let alone 2. We have to let these 2 players gow and add complementary pieces surrounding them

We haven't even made the playoffs and won't at this horrible pace. Wake up man. Steve and Yao aren't even close to Shaq and Kobe...what a horrible example. Neither are superstars. Thats like the Celtics saying "Oh, lets keep Pierce and Walker...LA did it with Shaq and Kobe, see what happened! We'll do the same and win a championship."

    Just say no to Kobe.

If Steve were traded that'd mean three years spent on rebuilding a team even though there are players presently good enough to get there...

Steve for Vince Carter and Mobley & Cato for Kirk Hinrich
