It's time to root badly for a couple of former Rockets

Carlos Delfino didn’t play in the NBA or in Euroleague or in any other club competition since Rockets one and only win in that OKC series in 13’playoffs and he didn’t play for reason.

He had seven (!) surgeries on one (!) foot in these three years.

He could barely walk for the last couple of years before his seventh surgery.

He was overweight for 45 pounds because of that at one time.

He has no club contract at age 34, he had almost no chance to walk normally and I’m not even talking about playing again at pro-level, but he came back to earn the spot on the Argentinian Olympic team without any guarantee for this eventual spot.

Delfino and other ClutchFans Superhero Luis Scola are going to play against team USA and I think there is no way no to root for them, because they’ve brought their 100% as a Rockets members.

They are missed by a bunch of guys here, not only for their respective production on the court but also for their unique abilities of being one of greatest teammates around.

Every Rockets fan knows the true value of that after disastrous 15/16 season.

That’s why Argentinians are naming their team simply as Alma (The Soul), because of those two, Nocioni and Manu, their professionalism and personal qualities, their love for the game and willingness to give 100% effort every night on every play.

Probably that is going to be the last game of that epic “Almateam” of Argentina that has beaten team USA in 2004 Olympics, eventually changed the game of basketball with their shooting from all five positions and ball-movement & amazingly the core is still there for one last fight.

I think we should honour them with a game-like live thread.

It would be a great appreciation to the vets.

Love me some Scola, Delfino and Manu. I'll definitely be barracking for them as long as they're not playing the Boomers.

Nah bro. They already have the most beautiful girls. I'm sure Delfino is doing ok.

    USA wins by 30.

Well, I´m Brazillian and rooting for Argentina to win it all, even though they eliminated us (twice in the same competition ).

Probably after Scola and Manu retires that won´t happen ever again, but they deserve this gold medal to crown their brillant career.
I also wish Delfino can use this to extend his bball career for a couple of years.

Besides, having this "red stain" in the carriers of Draydumb Green, Klay Chokeson & Kevin "****myprinciplesIwannawin" Durant would be AWESOME!

    No Rockets harmed

This Argentina may be a step slower than alot teams, but their games are nice to watch, they may not win the game, but they play so well together.

definitely the team with the most heart out there.

i can't root for USA. they have draymond green. i can't do it. call me what you will, i wouldn't root for the rockets if they picked him up and won 6 titles in a row.

Absolutely not. The only former Rockets I'm rooting for is Jordan Hill

Seeing Klay, Durant, and Draymond fail to win gold would be more fulfilling than America cruising to another gold... but I don't think it's gonna happen.

I'm rooting for America... cause I'm American.

It's fun and all to think about how "soulful" and full of heart and pride the Argentinian team is.... but that's because they aren't dominant at basketball. Very good, but not dominant, with the ability to be consistently dominant.

USA has plenty of seemingly "soulful" athletes on team USA, in sports where there isn't such a dominance.

I'm not really a fan of the GSW crew on team USA, but I would be if they were Rockets, lol. Plus there's Lowry, equally "beloved" ex-Rocket.
