Lowry was a back-up who transitioned into a starter. If both of you would just recognize the semantic of the word "career" and how you use it here, the issue would have no need for a four-letter word :(

Stuck in mediocrity With Daryl Morey

The Rockets is an example of a hardworking team, good coaching, average results..They'll exert 110% of their energy in the season to win half their games and fight for 8th spot of the playoffs but end up not making it. Basically stuck in mediocrity.

You guys realise how much sweat Kevin Durant or Kobe Bryant or Dirk Nowitzki needs to break to get a season W? Not much. They only start playing hard in the playoffs when it counts.

I feel Morey's time should be up because he hasn't added much to the team the past 3 years and this year is the last straw..he's way too conservative.at least the knicks get an 'A' for effort because of their changes and adding stars to their team. This 4th or 5th year of Morey in charge is supposed to be at the stage of enjoying the fruits of his labor. On the contrary, this team is not only stuck in mediocrity and the main deal with the Rockets the past 3 years is they didnt free up cap space to add new stars, and neither did they do any trades for new players. Basically the rockets are tryinig to clean up a big mess when his is supposed to be the year where they enjoy their fruits of their labor. He basically got nobody in the free agent sweepstakes...how is he supposed to get anyone NOW when every star is basically locked in to long term contracts?

I think it's time for Rockets to make a change. I have nothing against Daryl Morey, he seems like a nice guy, but nice guys finish last. and I am just saying the facts. Thanks for your attention.

Is that Daryl Morey's fault, or is that Les Alexander's fault?

To be fair the Rockets have been blessed with great players and exciting teams before Morey took over. At the time, getting tmac was great, getting drexler, barkley, pippen were all exciting. What has morey got us since he's been here since 07? kevin martin? Lol

Morey should be fired, for even considering Lawrence Frank as a serious head coach for the Rockets, and not hiring Tom Thibeadeau when he had the chance

The Rockets are a talent-less bunch full of second and third-tier players. That's not a knock. It's the truth. And good coaching? Did you watch Wednesday's game? McHale has been average at best, and that may be generous.

I do, however, put the blame on Morey, who's been here since 2007 and should be well situated with his systems and what not and what does he have to show for it? Your best players are a point guard who would be a reserve on a legit contending team and a power forward who is one dimensional. Other than that he has scraps, aside from Parsons, who I really like, and maybe Patterson, who has been shaky since arriving here as far as stability and production.

If I hadn't heard all this hype about how Morey was the next best thing, I wouldn't have a problem with him. But he was supposed to be the Rockets' savior. He was supposed to be ahead of the curve and a "game-changer." The results have been frustratingly disappointing.

Good coaching left with Adleman .... and JVG before him.

I dont know how anyone can blame Morey when he's handcuffed by Les. He's done (or attempted to) all he can. Eventually you have to have a shot at elite talent in the draft. That has yet to occur .... because Les wont allow it.

Let's just call a tank thread a tank thread. Then merge it.

Yeah people hatin you just hate the truth of their beloved franchise. I agree Morey may need to go but he has one more season to prove something in this next draft and trade deadline. Then its adios muchachos if he has done nothing by then.

    Now to the point.

I think Morey has a very good track record with the Rockets. Although I didn't and still don't like the Adelman move, Morey did one of the best GM jobs in the last few years.

Judging his job by wins is judging a poker player by the cards he is dealt. Morey has made the max out of the crappy situation the Rockets are in. Just imagine what Kahn would've done in his place.

Morey is great at drafting, sure he couldn't pull off a major blockbuster trade, but he did salvage the corpse of T-Mac and brought in a valuable player in Kevin Martin who almost got traded for Gasol. Martin+Scola = the corpse of T-Mac+ a 2nd rounder? Heck of a job. Sure, we're 'stuck in purgatory' and some of Morey's gambles didn't pan out, but it's not that we've given up a lot for those picks.

His worst move was the acquisition of Williams. The pick is worth so much more in hindsight, and the GARM has become a terrible place since the Williams fanboys appeared. Not just the GARM, the Dream Shake blog has become a terrible place too.

SHHHHH! This is Clutchfans, keep that logic s**t out of here! Clearly ANY bum off the street could field a team that has five winning seasons in a row as its two best players that it spent 2/3 of its cap on simultaneously and spontaneously combust!
