IMHO Walt is not going anywhere until the young guns prove they belong, and prove that they are better than he is game in and game out. We need the depth because of the injuries that always seem to happen to the Rox throughout the season. And his experience is important esp. on such a young team. He is a team player and positive influence. Would not object to moving him for more inside muscle and depth if an outstanding offer comes along, or during the playoff stretch once the younger players are more established.
Walt's here as the #2 SF because he's a vet and TMo is the #3 because he's a rook. I think you'll see Walt's minutes shrink as the year goes on because the rockets will use different mismatches, Rice will improve, and Morris will have some experience. I don't know if Morris will pass Walt this year, but i do believe this is the last year the rockets need a veteran at the backup SF to lean on as a crutch. As the crutch helps you walk it prevents you from running.
