Nike is taking over as the official NBA jersey supplier. They have not released there plans for the upcoming year, but there have been leaks of teams with new uni's http://news.sportslogos.net/2017/07/06/more-leaks-of-nike-nba-uniforms-surface/ I'm really hoping Nike and the Rockets come up with a New Jersey. Nike is known to have sleek designs and nothing to gaudy...fingers crossed they come up with something super nice.
So is everyone getting a makeover with Nike or will the uniform be the same just put on the new Nike chassis?
Man i've been 100% for this for a while. I absolutely hate these CBA looking uniforms. The wide shoulder cut the ugly two rings around the arms and the side of the shorts and the damn logo change the damn "R". The Chinese "rockets" & "Houston" lettering on the front of the jersey is **** it's just all bad. If the bucks can rebrand we can too
The black unis are slick and should be the primary. I know the players liked them and we always seemed to play better in them. They need an update to the mustard and ketchup other then those horrid clutch city shirt things. Bring back the mustard and ketchup from 2015 those were some of my favorites
Time to move on from the existing font and launching "R" design. It's always looked like they got a cheap designer from 99Designs.com to do it. Les: Let Morey make the decisions on the new design...
I like these concepts based off of the black alt. I've given up the idea of Les ever going back to red and yellow. credit: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/112183-rockets-concept-based-on-black-alts/#comment-2773031
Yep. This seems like the next organic step to take with the uni's. I like the black ones, but for me the font on the chest has to match whats on the logo, so something has to give there.
This is exactly what I was talking about! Would be very happy with this change. I don't need them to reinvent the wheel, but honestly the stuff we have right now is terrible except when they are in alternates.
Exactly. The mismatched numbers and font is the only thing off about it. Either go with the outline on both or keep it solid for both. I prefer solid like the 90s. As is, it creates an illusion that they use 2 different whites for the numbers and the wordmark. EDIT: my bad, i see you meant the actual official font needs to be matched on the jersey. I agree as well, though a logo update with new font is possible. With the concepts above, i do like the gray side panel, but prefer to keep it black for the white home set just like the actual rocket it's based on and black as well on the red. You can use a lighter shade of black that way it also stands out on the black alternates as well.
I like it, I'd be happy with this too bad we'll probably have the same looking crap jerseys next year
It's worth noting that the marketing stuff the Rockets use on twitter usually features the black uniforms. They know what's up.
