To be perfectly honest, I think our passion about the losses have blinded our judgement. This team is virtually a brand new team that has not had the opportunity to gel yet. Think about the Miami Heat: They have TWO top 5 players and at least one more top 15 player, yet they are barely over .500. Why is that? Because they have to clearly define their roles. Though this team has alot of returning players, many of them are in NEW ROLES! Jordan Hill is playing center, Hayes at power foward again, and with Yao back, everyone has to adjust their game, most importantly, ARRON BROOKS! His freedom to score last year was big for us. Now consider the new players we have, Lee, Ish, Miller. They have not had the opportunity to define their roles on this team. Consider the training camp and preseason this year, Miller missed most of both, Lowry missed most of both, Bud missed most of the training camp. Most people have forgotten how good this team was in the season opener. We only lost by a few points and we didn't have Lowry then either. We have seen how much of a spark plug Lowry is since he has returned. If he had been there since the preseason, this teams record would look ALOT BETTER! We've have all been pleasanty surprised about Miller play. Imagine if he had a full training camp and preseason with the team. We saw glimpes of how good Lee and Bud play together. Imagine if they had a full training camp to develop chemistry. Remember this team has not played at full strength ALL YEAR!!!! Once everyone gets back and if there're able to stay healthy LONG ENOUGH to build some chemistry. This will be a very GOOD TEAM! Most of our loses have been close, chemistry would have put us over the edge in most of those games. I agree, these loses have been very disapponting, but we still have a few games left in the season. There is still a sun shining behind the clouds!!!

Read that excellent post above yours. Those aren't crap excuses, it's a reality that makes a lot of sense.

Thank you for the post. Exactly what i'm talking about.

I've read every single post in this thread...and me being the OP has laughed at many of the posts.

Unfortunately there are too many posts here to defend becuase honestly, many people aren't going to get it.

The ultimate point of my thread is to emphasize the meaning of Time. Time as in days and several weeks. Everyone seems chaotic, like they're at work trying to beat a deadline just rushing and rushing. Failing to see that all the proper resources to get the job done haven't even come into play.

No, i wasn't being sarcastic in my post.
I'm not being delusional either. Someone called me a troll. LOL.

I'm serious, once we get the time to breathe and be a little more healthier I can assure you.....

WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, WITH THE ROSTER WE HAVE. MARK MY WORDS. I DOUBT THERE WILL BE ANY TRADES AT ALL.

I will defend this idea, and when it's all said and done you will see the Rockets in the playoffs and all the people laughing now will find out that they've miscalculated their perceptions of the 2010-2011 season.

But nothing can be proven until the passage of time, so just WAIT.

I really dislike when people say, "It's the schedule, the teams we played were very good." I do not care what your schedule is. The schedule is not an excuse. Especially for a team that was expecting to contend. When playoff's come around, all the teams are very good obviously, and when a team gets swept, it is the schedules fault? No. it is not. A good team should beat good teams. So no it is not the schedule, it is the team itself.

not only did we play good teams but you have to understand the match-ups and style of play of the teams. Why do you think some teams would rather face a certain team in the playoffs?? We have yet to play at full power this season.
We will get it done, we've got too much talent on the team.

We are not going to face the TWolves, Pacers and Knicks all season, it's not just the schedule. We have not beaten a good team that was expected to be in the playoffs.

I do agree that we can get it done, and I still think we will make the playoffs, but I just can't say it is the schedule, no matter what play styles we have to face on the other side and etc. To turn it around we have to focus on what is needs to be fixed with the team itself, finishing quarters, coaching decisions, stuff like that.

    It's the NBA.

    Every team is good.

The Rockets could theoretically lose every game and still by "fine" using the logic of this thread.

This team has no identity and isn't fun to watch. The 2008 season had passion and heart this team just doesn't interest me and is embarrassing to watch. That OKC game was the straw that broke the camel's back, we are not anywhere close to being as talented as OKC. We need a trade and we need to get rid of some of these scrubs asap. Morey should have everyone on this team available for a trade, there has to be somebody out there that can help turn this season around. I don't enjoy losing just to see us go up in the draft, that is a loser mentality and in a year where we should be winning and wishing New York to lose for their pick.

At this point Morey is as much to blame as Adelman, they both are just sitting on their hands as the walls come crumbling down. Waiting on guys to get healthy is one thing but when we lose at the rate we have been losing then that tells me that if we lose someone else then we are going to be in the same spot. Players are going to get injured but we still have to win the underdog games to stay competitive in the Western Conference. I don't blame the schedule I blame the whole Rockets Organization on this one.

Ohhhh....now I get it. I guess I was confused. It's not JUST the schedule, it's the match-ups and style of play! Ohhhhhh....you must have read Bill Simmons' latest book...I missed that one.

I can't wait till we play teams that match up well with us and play with a style conducive for a Rockets win. CHAAAAAMPIONSHIIIIIP.

Consider this, Clutchfans, EVERY GAME this season, the Rockets have led after the first qrt. They have led going into halftime, EVERY GAME. The second unit has had a problem maintaining those leads. With Lowry running the second unit again, which was apart of our success last year, they will be able to maintain those leads again, if not increase them. I would love to see Yao come off the bench. With him starting, two bad things happen: It throws off the consistency of the first unit and the opposing team can plan for Yao better. If they know he will be in the game the first 6 min. of the 1st and 3rd qrt, then they can draft a gameplan for that. As a bystander, I can come with" just weather the storm until Yao goes out, then ATTACK!!!" But with him coming off the bench, you can't anticipate when he'll come into the game. You also have to adjust your team's minutes and rotation in order to prepare for Yao to come in at ANY moment, because you don't want your second unit trying to stop a Yao-led offense! This causes consistency problems for the opposing team, evening the playing field. Miller has shown he can start and with Yao back, he won't have to play as much. It also frees up Hill to be able to play some 4, maybe? Yao can take back the starting job once he's going again or if him coming off the bench works great, then keep it like it is.

Sooo....you're saying Kyle Lowry is the key to the Rockets closing out games?

    I'll have what you're having.

Rockets have yet to beat a winning team including the last 2 games against dallas and san antonio in the preseason were 0-10 against teams above 0.500, how are we just fine when the entire west is deep

He may not score in bunches, but he is a floor general. He been back three games now, two of which he looked real good. The other, in OKC, he was exhausted from the game the night before, Bulls(Rose). Put him back on the second unit and he can a least play good defense and bring energy, the two things you need to at LEAST maintain leads! AND I'M DRINKING NON-PANIC PUNCH, TRY SOME. LOL
