You know I'm with your mar.

Harry Potter is the reason perverts like Paul Reubens are allowed in strip clubs.

It means That when Paul Reubens goes into a strip club and sees a naked woman and attempts to masturbate, We can all blame Harry Potter.

    Ignorance is bliss.

I am sure glad I dont read that Tolken crap, I mean only 34 year old nerds that play D and D in their parents basement read Tolken:rolleyes:

I have an idea guys lets rip down anything that gets young kids to read. Hell gets people to read in general. That would be good.:(

No, that's the head coach of the WNBA's Washington Mystics, Marianne Stanley. I was implying that she was Harry Potter... That pic doesn't do her Potter-look-alike accuracy justice.

Ummm...considering that his arrest for public masturbation was over a decade ago...I can't see the relevance.

Actually, nomar is NOT joking. He continually bashs HP without ever having read the books. Do a search for "Harry Potter" and read the threads where nomar has posted. You'll see what I mean. If you want to gripe about Harry Potter, fine by me. (Hey, I complained about Star Wars in another thread.) Just SEE the movies and/or READ the books first.

I think IVFL pretty much summarized my next lecture:

Guess what? The second movie is LIGHT YEARS better than the first, nomar. Give it a chance. Don't base your entire opinion of Harry Potter on a mediocre first movie from a mediocre director. While you're at it, try reading the books. Had I seen the movie Sphere (or the 13th Warrior or Disclosure) without reading the book first, I would have declared Michael Crichton a crap writer based on the movies. In reality, though, Sphere was probably his best work as a writer. Barry Levinson just screwed it up. Same thing with John Grisham's The Firm and The Pelican Brief.

Why would you care enough to boycott a children's movie?

Harry Potter has gotten kids to start reading again, and if they want to go see a movie about it too, more power to them.

Plus, hasn't the new movie gotten pretty good reviews?

I don't know if I can sit through a three hour movie if it doesn't have Orcs and Hobbits in it...now that's a movie!

    I'm such a dork, but don't care.

I saw it last night. I liked it a lot. The first Harry Potter was good, but dissapointing, but the second one is great!
