If this was a couple years ago, I would love to catch an opposing team's home run if Brad Lidge was pitching and wait till I can get a closer look and throw it to his face.

What is the point of that baseball? It doesn't embody any emotion connected to the team. Imagine the value of a homerun ball you caught that won it for the Astros in the bottom of the 11th. Everytime you pass it at your home you'll remember how euphoric that moment was.

Would I throw back a home run because I thought I should be loyal? No. I'd do it because 40,000 people would cheer me.

It would be cool to hear the roar of the crowd and know that they erupted because of something I did.

Honestly, I'd probably throw it back because of peer pressure if everyone yelled at me to do so. And I'd have no problem doing so.

i've been to maybe hundreds of astros games and never once caught a homerun. not even a foul ball actually. people could boo me all night, i'm not throwing it back. that's my souvenir.

Then keep the WS ball for 10 years and fleabay it to a Chicago fan who wanted it as a kid.

Spend the money on season tickets w/ the son.

What about that fool that caught Bonds #70 at Minute Maid. Mattress Mac offered him $500,000, he turned it down and ended up getting "only" $50,000 at an auction.

I wonder what Bonds' record setting ball will go for?

They ejected some fan for throwing back a HR ball two weeks ago at Fenway.

Why in God's name would you want to hang on to a ball hit by Albert Pujols? I mean, what the hell? You gonna display that in your house? Show it off to people? "Yeah, this is the moonshot that destroyed Brad Lidge!"

    Throw that **** back.

Um, cause he'll likely be a first ballot Hall of Famer?
Like someone else said, give the ball to a kid.
