It's quite possible that both Paul and Harden will average double digit assists next year.

Can't see them averaging over 15 combined. My guess is Paul around 8, harden around 6.

They will be splitting PG duties, so I doubt it. If I had to guess, Harden's assists per game will drop back to the 6-8 range, and Paul's will hover close to 10 per game.

I voted no, but never wanted to be so wrong in my life. It really will depend on how quickly the team gels and how their roles settle. They would both have to be extremely efficient when not on floor together.

Is it greedy to want both?

I tptally agree. With Paul, Harden & EGO dishing out assists, I don't see how 2 of them can average double digit assists. However, if we can continue to hit our open shots like we did last year; our assist total will be much higher. That will happen if we can maintain fresh legs. We'll maintain fresh legs by not playing 38 minutes per game. With this group, no one should be averaging more than 34 minutes agame.

Yeah exactly. My hope is that it will become more of a free flowing offense when the defense is scrambling to adjust to two triple-threat players on the court at the same time rather than us having to rely on one person creating everything for the team every play.

I think that means more team assists and a better offense and I don't see how it could allow for two players to get double digit assists per game. We'll see.

I think everyone is underestimatng the number of Capella lobs and Ariza back door cuts that are going to happen. The off ball screens are going to give a lot of people problems, whether it be Harden with the ball and Capella screening CP3 or CP3 with the ball and Capella screening Harden. Once they curl around that screen, catch the ball, and get into the lane, Capella is going to run free to the basket all night. Unless Ariza's man steps over, then, well you know.

Neither Harden or CP3 will be playing extensive minutes through out the season , I think for the most part they'll be on a minutes watch unless games a tight due to CP3s age and Hardens Collapse in Game 6 , so neither will average double digit assists.

Its not impossible, 83-84 Spurs. John Lucas 10.7 and Johnny Moore 9.6. Spurs averaged 28.8 AST and 120.3 PPG as a team. I would say Harden/Paul are a bit more talented than that duo.

To be honest, even if they both average 8 assists per game would be very impressive. We do know however that the media will not officially recognize it unless they hit 10. It's the media magic number that counts these days which is kinda what my OP was hinting at. ;)

If you had a Karl Malone in the front-court, then maybe.

    Eh...I wouldn't say it's quite possible.

It's extremely unlikely but theoretically possible.

This. I think it's very possible for them to average over 20 assists together, like CP3/Harden are 13/8 assists. Capela and Nene should have a good year with the playmaking we'll have.

I really hope you're right, but dude just sits there 8 feet behind the 3pt line in triple threat stance not moving an inch. And he still manages to be last back on defense.

I'm not a firm believer in Paul taking an off-ball role, and I'm very doubtful of Harden doing that. We'll see, I hope I'm wrong. I think it'll still workout though.
