It's pretty we're a better team when Toney Douglas is the primary ball handler.

Mark Jackson was definitely a better passer. I'm not letting you redefine the term "playmaker" to suit your convenience.

That is a different argument. Use a different word.

By the way, in your "Measuring Playmaking Ability" thread, I blew your argument to pieces. Lin is still the best playmaker on our team.

No. I said my scaling of Lin's numbers this year have credibility because I can back them up with independent evidence. That evidence was Linsanity.

See Nate Silver's argument. According to him, Lin has an 83% chance of becoming at least an All-Star (on merit) at some point in his career.

Nate Silver, by the way, was the guy who correctly predicted all 50 states in the federal election last month.

I like how you always try to piss everyone off, even one of the most level headed, objective and respectful poster on this board.

You are what clutchfans was afraid of when Jeremy Lin joined the team, an influx of bandwagoners who never even heard of the Houston Rockets before hopping on board and trashing the place up.

Now Nate Silver, he was using statistics to show his case. I believe Lin has a lot of potential but that still doesn't make how you manipul

Another Lin TROLL masquerading as a stats guy (with zero knowledge of stats or how to use them). Time to ignore this disrespectful moron.

That's not what I asked. Say the words: "Mark Jackson was definitely a better playmaker than Michael Jordan." Go ahead. If you really want to commit to that, we can agree to disagree on what it means to be a great playmaker.

Um, no. :) See my response in that thread.

Jordan only got the ball when the play broke down or when it was the final seconds of the possession?

As I wrote, I look at playmaking as the ability to create a good shot for your team when they entrust you with the ball to initiate a play. Simply being a good ball distributor isn't all there is to it. That said, the formula I came up with does favor PGs over all the other positions: PGs, on average, had a 12-13 rating, where for other positions it was ~7-9 rating.

Really? Because whenever he's on the floor there is no direction for the team. PGs need mediate the offense. The fact that he has the ability to be a better playmaker doesn't mean **** when he plays like a scared girl out there. If anything, thats what bothers me the most.

Now I've heard it all. The term "playmaker" is strictly attached to passing? This is a complete contradiction to logic. And how egotistical can one be to not see the irony of this statement when the Jordan comparison was presented? The depths that one will sink to support their player is amazing.

I must admit that it has become difficult to take anyone seriously with a 2012 in their join date. Lately, most of the nonsense on this board supports this logic.

I think Sturgeon's Law probably applies, regardless of join date. "Ninety percent of everything is crap."

I think they are both pretty inconsistent at this point in the season, but they both balance each other nicely. Lin should het more pt with the second unit and especially when Harden sits. TD should get more Pt with Harden, 2pat, Asik, and CP.

Nice idea, except Harden is averaging 40 mins per game, even when we have decent sized leads. Parsons is averaging 37 mins.

It seems that resting Harden isn't high on their priority list.
