It's pretty evident we're a better team when Lin is the primary ball handler.

I wish we could wait until the end of the season, if that was possible, but it's not.

Lol at Lin-lovers ready to anoint him after his 1st good game. Harden is still the lead dog who should have the ball in his hands, although I do agree that they should split up the touches more.

 well, yes, but what does that have to do with the fact that I'm mostly here for browsing the game threads and the stat talk?

I wonder if you're gonna ghetto Nate Silver and torocan then.

What are you laughing at, you agree with the so called Lin lovers.

Pretty much. Jeremy Lin is still a joke thread.

Expect more than 100 page thread.

They're getting hungry and ready to attack.

I can imagine them salivating for the opportunity. lol

I've been hinting at the JKidd similarity since before the start of the season. Look up the "Lin's Upside" thread.

Looks like you're violently agreeing with me.

Since we are doing comparisons using a very limited sample size of Lin's 16 games from this season anyways, I did the following search using this criteria:

For single seasons; played in the NBA/BAA; in the regular season; from 1946-47 to 2012-13; from 1st to 3rd season; requiring Rebounds Per Game >= 4 and Assists Per Game >= 6 and Steals Per Game >= 2 and Effective Field Goal Pct <= .426; sorted by descending Usage Pct.

I included eFG% into the search to reflect Lin's shooting this year. Thoughts?

I don't know why Jeremy Lin fans can't accept the fact that he played pretty poor early in the season. And that when a scorer has trouble scoring, any team that wants to win will go to more efficient players. But now that he's been finishing at the basket better, they're running more plays for him. This isn't some freaking conspiracy theory. It's about coaches wishing to maximize scoring.

If Lin shows he can produce more, he'd get more touches and more ball handling duties. The Rockets would like nothing more than Lin to take pressure off of Harden. They'd like nothing more for him to get closer to his Linsanity efficiency. Yes, believe it or not, it's in the Rockets best interest to make Lin as productive as possible. The only question is, does Lin have the capability to be productive as a ball-handling PG? Early in the season? No. Now? Perhaps yes. We'll see going forward.

The good majority of Rockets fans are fans -- we want our players to be great. Whether we're comparing Harden to Ginobili or Lin to Kidd, we are only engaging in typical fan talk. How can any sensible fan be upset?

There are haters, of course, and they will hate regardless. Ignore them or destroy them, as you like.

In fairness, that one might be a low blow to Kidd (despite what Wikipedia says). I thought I remeber seeing some talk years later about how Kidd was actually the one abused, not the other way around. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I actually thought the OP was a troll making fun of Lin by asking him to play with his fans' balls. I was thinking of asking the OP to be prevented from starting new threads.

I expanded the search for any eFG% <= .478 which was Lin's eFG% from last year. Interesting results.
