It's pretty cool when the team who had the biggest jump is also a team the Rockets beat in that week. Portland jumped 6 spots going 3-1, thus rankers gave a pass for losing to us....and a home game at that.
"In Friday's triple-overtime win against the 76ers, Russell Westbrook became the fifth player to go for at least 25 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a game in the past 50 seasons, according to Elias Sports Bureau research. He joined James Harden, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Micheal Ray Richardson." Yeah... so maybe they need to put a little more emphasis on the fact that it took three overtime periods to accomplish this. James could easily put up 60-20-20 in 3 OTs if he's already shown he can put up 53-16-17 in a regulation game.
Prediction: Next loss (whenever that is) will drop us to #4 with comments such as "Turns out they weren't so great after all."
Yep, and Harden got his on only 26 shots. 7 less shots, 26 more points. Unreal efficiency that night.
NOLA- we're so good they called us the "Rockers"! The Rockers are a No. 1 in the power rankings for the second week in a row because of their dominant play with Chris Paul in the lineup. Houston is 14-0 with Paul in the lineup and it hasn't been held under 100 points in a game since Oct. 28.
"HOUSTON ROCKETS - 8TH (DOWN 7 FROM LAST WEEK) 28-5 (3-1 past week) Yes, the Rockets are still a very good basketball team sitting at 28-5, but after their 108-101 loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday night, it's pretty hard to ignore the glaring holes in this team's roster. Their hot start defensively is a thing of the past, and James Harden's recent shooting woes (7-23 last night, 42% overall this past week) have only made things worse."
Dont expect anything from the media and you will feel better. As long as we are on our game, no team is beating up regular season or playoffs.
Kawhi was drafted a year b4 HOU aquired Harden and in his first year he certainly didn’t show much promise to predict he would be this good so I’m sure Harden would’ve still been acquired and even he wasn’t I would’nt have minded Kawhi as our main star. And HOU actually does a very solid job developing players: Clint Capela most notably.
Second Rockets lose they drop to 2. I mean the Warriors are impressive. No Curry, and Durant shoots 4-20, and they can still win? That's scary.
