I'm pretty sure any sufficiently large protest crowd will contain at least a few people who compare the opponent to Hitler (whether rightly or wrongly), it's just the way public protests go. It doesn't matter if the issue is overthrowing an autocrat, collective bargaining rights for public employees, health care reform or more park space in a city, if there is a protest, there will be a Hitler comparison somewhere.

Walker is not Hitler. Obama is not Hitler. Even Mubarak is not Hitler-- he is not even Hafez Assad or Saddam Hussein (or Qaddhafi, it seems). But Hitler comparison is gonna be made-- he's just the one most popular autocrat comparison for protesters in our time.

I think it's hilarious when the right tries to bring up Soros. On it's face it's a stupid argument to make.

In this case it's like saying the union members want to lose their collective bargaining, or don't care about losing their collective bargaining. But they are only willing to protest it because Soros gives money.

What an idiotic argument for someone to make.

It makes far more sense to say that the protesters seek people like Soros who have money and are aligned with their positions to donate money.

That's only one of the reasons why the Soros argument is stupid. Another is that unlike Wealthy Right Wing groups that fund tea party activities Soros is acting for policies that would at some level hurt billionaires and help working people. But that reason is for another argument.

 

Bringing up Soros is cool because Glenn said so:
