that does no such thing. I simply see no reason for them get in your face about it. There are not a lot of them, but the ones that do are annoying and pointless. What is the reasoning for that?

i posted that originally because I am having a big problem with this college professor and I wanted to vent.

I wish straight people would stop shoving their straightness in my face.

(Especially women, they are all over me).

No worries. Like I said, maybe you're just giving an anecdote.

Generally speaking, in a thread like this, those types of comments speak to whether gays should be accepted or not. They imply that such behavior is common and bad. It's like talking about how you don't have a problem with black people as long as they're not shoving it in your face. Maybe you don't like baggy pants and hip-hop slang, but wouldn't that be a separate issue from whether you were accepting of black people in general? The same thing applies here. Whether or not you dislike overly flamboyant homosexual behavior should be separate from whether you are accepting of gays in general.

In this case you're just telling an anecdote, but I hope you can see how the placement of that story both in this thread and as a "however" to the fact that you have no problem with gay people can make it sound like you're really only okay with gay people as long as the don't "act gay".

i understand where you are coming from. I was just saying, considering most gay people I have been around do not act this way, I do not even consider it "gay behavior." I think they are just people trying to draw attention to himself. This teacher for instance does all the stereotypical flamboyantly "gay" things along with many other things simply to draw attention to himself. He is one of these douches that overpronounciates words and adds emphasis in unnecessary places. (that last part was just another rant.
