If two people love each other, whether they are gay, lesbian or straight; Why can they not be together? As I see it, This world needs all the love it can get, and if Jesus "really" condemns people in love, I condemn Jesus.
Speaking as someone who believes Jesus is my savior and died for all my sins.... you and everyone else my friend. That's what he came for.
Nope! Whether it is caused by genes, something in the womb, something after birth, or a choice made by the individual is all irrelevant. The only relevance in understanding that for this discussion is as a rebuttal to anti-homosexual arguments.

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
OK so if the a college professor flamboyantly displayed his heterosexuality by talking about how he made love to his wife or flirting with female associates would that bother you?
That is an interesting question and I'm not really sure. I don't think the question of whether sexuality is determined biologically or not would be a very big issue if homosexuality was completely accepted by society but I'm certain there would still be debate about it but rather than a cultural debate it would be more limited to scientific debate. For the record I think there is a biological component towards homosexuality but I think human sexuality and attraction is far more complicated than that. One thing the Human Genome project has shown is that genetics isn't destiny especially when it comes to things like human behavior. I believe that there are genetic and prenatal factors that might lead to strong tendencies but those very greatly from person to person. I also believe that human sexuality isn't an either / or for humanity but that there is a range and like left or right handedness there is a range from extreme heterosexuality to extreme homosexuality. I'm also not going to rule out cultural factors since there have and are societies where homosexuality wasn't just accepted but encouraged. Consider the ancient Greeks and I have a hard time buying that somehow ancient Greeks were genetically more predisposed towards homosexuality.
Right, but gay folk are sinners none the less, in the eyes of Christians etc, and ARE being condemned now...
You can believe whatever you want, but If Jesus felt homosexuality was a sin, I am afraid I must disagree. I know homosexual people that would give an arm to be straight...
I am being honest, just say what you gotta say on here. Is email necessary? If it is let me know, but I would rather just chat on the topic here if you do not mind...
I only meant if you knew someone who really felt that way I would be interested in knowing more, to offer help. I'm rarely serious here in D&D and that is too sensitive a subject for me to discuss publically. I would have said the same if you told me you knew someone who would give their arm to get off drugs or to restore a marriage or to find peace on earth.
You could have just said "Gayness is caused by both cultural and genetic factors" and saved a whole bunch of bandwidth.
I see. Problem is, he can't "get off gay" like you could drugs. He is gay, and he is going to stay that way, and gay folk will have to learn to deal with the unfair consequences/prejudices that are preset for them for quite some time... I hope that was an understandable blabble.
