Cubs message boards are currently downplaying Pettite and Clemens like they were total scrubs. They're going to need more corked bats in Chi-town!
I read somewhere that he will pitch on the road, but won't be required to go on road trips on which he doesn't pitch. Where I read that though I don't remember, so don't necessarily take it for a truth. What's really amazing is how much other people talked him into coming back. In the press conference today, he made it clear that he had truly planned to retire after the season, and that family and friends worked hard on him to come back for another year.
Yeah, sorry about that.... Just a hardcore fan wanting to see my good guys get the recognition they deserve.
I find these posts on the Yanks board funny as well, the last two due to what was said at the press conference.
Yankee fans are going to be even more bitter when they see Clemens still hanging around the Astros 11 years from now: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASAp...nt_id=627017&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou
Good grief. Pull up the most ignorant posts from Clutchcity and act like they represent the board as a whole. I thought there would be there would be halfway intelligent posts from representative Yankees fans that were mad. If you want to make fun of these poor bastards and act like they are like most Yankees fans ( or most fans of any team you want to name) then knock yourself out. Might as well make fun of the mentally r****ded.
Those yank fan forum posts are freaking hilarious - obviously people are only going to post the most ridiculous ones here...
Well, when I went looking for the post that I quoted, I didn't pick it out of a group of positive posts, it was pretty much standard of what was being said. I haven't gone back, so I can't say if that has changed as people have had time to cool off.
There are honestly only a couple of cool heads over there, ie this guy: (a bit long but a good read) The rest though are still going buck wild; that thread is 12 pages long now.
I just don't understand how some are questioning his character as a father. It's same thing that happened when Pettitte signed. Started out bashing him then some turned on his wife.........Very bitter.
I find it funny; at the press conference he made it clear that his three older sons wanted him to pitch for Houston. Today the youngest went from being against it to vocally being for it - as he said himself at the press conference. Edit: Sitting here thinking about it though, what I find funniest is the bull**** that was pulled that let Clemens become a Yankee in the first place.
