While I agree with you and Id hate to see the Biyz do that...don't be shocked if somehow, someway, Vinny Testaverde is one of the QB's in Dallas next season. Parcells has this thing about his "loyal soldiers"...but I hope not.

Has anyone else heard the rumblings about how Parcells may try to bring in Jake Plummer?

I'd feel bad for Simms if he played for the Cowboys. He probably wants to play there cause it's Texas, coached by Parcells, and a prestigious organization. The problem is not if Simms can handle the pressure of Big D, but if he can handle being thrown into the fire as a rookie. Parcells isn't exactly Mack Brown. Cowboys fans have playoff aspirations for a team in need of rebuiliding.

I thought about Testaverde too, but seriously I think he's done. Parcells HAS to see that.

I wonder when Curtis Martin's contract is up though?

    PARCELLS TO PURSUE PLUMMER

If/when Bill Parcells becomes the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys, a league source tells us that he will aggressively pursue Jake Plummer as the team's next starting quarterback.

Plummer arguably is the crown jewel of a weak free-agent crop of quarterbacks, if Kurt Warner doesn't become available (and if Kurt is healthy).

Plummer earned a big contract from the Cardinals in only his second year, and the future looked bright for the franchise in 1998, when the Cards made the playoffs -- and won a postseason game (against the Cowboys) for the first time in decades.

The team all fell apart over the following two seasons, however, with injuries and free agency decimating a potentially suffocating defense, and with the front office unable to put enough weapons around Plummer on offense.

Plummer's contract expired at the end of the 2002, and the Cards have shown no interest in bringing him back.

I would like to see Plummer in a Cowboys uni. He has talent, a lot more than any of their present qbs. If coached well, he could be better a lot sooner than Palmer and/or Leftwich.

I'd rather see the cowboys pick up a stud DL with the first pick, or trade down to get a good corner.

I wouldn't mind Carson, Byron, Rogers, or Willis if one fell to the Cowboys tho.

If Warner were available, I'd go after him. Simms to Dallas just doesn't make sense, really. They already have two raw guys there.

Amazingly, Simms seems to have forgiven the haters. I thought he would hate UT after the Irving debacle, but he actually got a Longhorn tatoo a couple months ago.

All indications point to him being a good kid.

Of course alot of Aggies and Sooners hate him because of the rivalry, but I can't "hate" nice people. I can't wish ill will on Quentin Griffin or Ty Warren.

Actually Simms to Dallas makes a lot of sense. Simms has said on many occassion that the Cowboys were his favorite team while he was growing up (even when his dad played for the Giants). Parcells (as he stated) has also known Chris Simms since he was 2 years old. Dallas is in major need of a QB.

There are a couple of problems that could occur with Dallas taking Simms though ... Will he be able to handle the pressure of playing for the Cowboys? ... What do the Cowboys do with Quincy and Hutch? ... Who will they bring in as a stop gap until Simms is ready? ... Also how high do they draft Simms?

Personally I think both Quincy and Chad should be gone. I also would not be suprised if Chad is traded on draft day. Even though his contract is bigger than Quincy's it is still very cap friendly.

I think Dallas should either trade up and select Leftwich/Palmer, and then bring in a vet QB (Vinny, Plummer, Greise, Warner/Bulger) as a stop gap until Leftwich/Palmer is ready. Trade Hutch, and make Quincy the #3 QB on the roster.

Or they should trade down in the draft (for an extra 1st rounder), and select Chris Simms mid-late 1st round, and bring in the stop gap QB while Simms learns. In both scenarios we trade Hutch.

I have heard that Plummer may want too much money though. I would also like to see Dallas draft Quinten Griffin. Some on this board have said he's like a poor mans Barry Sanders but Griffin reminds me a lot of Duce Staley.

To me, Jerry Jones is the only reason Carter is employed.

I don't see the Boys giving up on Hutchinson yet. I think Plummer would be a waste of money.
