The NBA has already said that any part of Kobe's contract CANNOT be voided. So, if convicted, the Lakers would have to pay the entire contract.
NBA sources have said the league would not allow a deal in which Bryant was paid if in prison. From the article.
It still counts toward the salary cap though. Whew, I was hoping Kobe stayed a Laker. The Clippers team w/ kobe would have been harder to beat than Kobe on the Lakers. I wish Rudy well, even when we crush the Lakers 4 times next season.
Thanks for sharing. I hope you were joking but if not, did you hear that Wilt the Stilt has fathered 5 more children this year alone! I will say this - I like Rudy T (even though some people might find that hard to believe) but I despise the Fakers. If my mother coached that team, I would still want them to lose every game possible. BTW - doesn't infamous Rudy hater, Caveman, live in LA? He can actually go to Laker home games and boo him!
The Magic Johnson thing is a joke. I hear it all the time. People make jokes like "such and such did this, that guy must be rolling over in his grave" even though the person is alive.
Although I believe the Lakers may opt to keep Kobe's contract intact if they think Kobe will not spend a significant amount of jail time. Although he would then make the Lakers even a bigger circus act than they are right now.
I am not sure, I don't think so. he may have played against him. I know he played against Rip Hamilton except back then he was on the winning side.
Shaq versus Kobe on Christmas Day in primetime on ABC, make it happen Stern (and since stern likes ratings i bet he will). can you imagine the hype there will be for that game?
If Kobe's convicted of rape, I don't think the Fakers would take him back, though in pro sports today anything's possible.
I think its good! I don't mind the Lakers as long as Karl Malone isn't on the team, I hope Rudy does well with the group they have right now.
You are probably right, but like I said if he were not receive a lot of jail time due to something like a plea bargain to lesser charges, there is a reasonable chance that the Lakers may want to keep him.
Just like Webber before him...when it's not about the money...it's about the money. Why am i not surprised.
