Please illustrate the rationale behind Ann Coulter claiming that the widows of 9/11 weren't allowed to be criticized. Nobody even attempted to silence her, and since her book she has had a dramatic rise in TV time. Plaese explain if you think accusing widows who tried to do something about the terrorists that killed their husbands were enjoying their husband's death. Where is the rationale behind that? Is this the kind of independent thinking you believe in?
Excellent!!!! I'm glad that you don't agree with her or what she stands for. I think we would all be better off if more people did!
A lot of times you defend the people who do the attacking such as Ann Coulter, or the congressman who tried to make Helen Thomas the butt of his stupid joke.
so you defend people who are attacked for the right reasons? how about the sc's who are threatened with physical harm? why not defend them?
Coulter is Coulter. She has said that prior to the publication of this book, no one (publishers et al) raised concerns about the reference to the Jersey Girls. As best I can discern it was a scant reference, but from the response here you'd think it was the title and subject of the book The congressman has already apologized to Helen Thomas... or did you see him on The Daily Show repeating the joke? I have some problem with your characterizing these two, in these instances, as attackers. It is others who are keeping these topics alive for the sole purpose of injuring their reputations and the reputation of the group (Republicans) they are associated with. Have you ever said anything you regretted? Neither have I...
I think you would be better served as a republican to denounce their hate filled rhetoric and say they are not what the republican party is about. That they don't represent the views of the majority of the republican party.
Agreed. I certainly don't have any issue calling Hillary a dingbat and a weasel. Of course, I'm not a democrat.
I prefer not to give it that much attention. I don't go around promoting Coulter. I've never purchased on of her books. I visit her website occasionally because a good friend of mine is a moderater over there. When this stuff hit the fan, I hadn't been to Ann's website in 3-4 months but I went to check out the response there. I don't track her TV appearances. She flits across my "screen" once in awhile and I just try to understand what she is trying to convey without getting too hysterical about her presentation. Same thing I do with someone like Lanny Davis whom I respect immensely but seldom agree with.
Yes, poor Ann "the victim" Coulter. That poor lady has been so victimized. Discussing her baseless attacks isn't attacking. It is foolish to think that when someone attacks there won't be a response. Ann Coulter attacked, now she is feelin the response. I am glad the congressman apologized. He knows that he was wrong, so why would you defend him? He attacked Helen Thomas who didn't do anything to him to provoke that. I am glad that he apologized. I have said things I regretted, and when I did I tried to make amends. Ann Coulter has not apologized and has repeated her claims, despite being given the opportunity. She obviously doesn't regret her attacks.
Coulter is single handedly upholding the stereotypes many have of right-leaning Americans, which is not a good thing. Seeing as she seems to try and outdo herself every time, I wonder what the final straw for her will be. I say she's on about her 14 and a half(th) minute of fame.
The thing about Coulter is I think she is highly sucessful as a counter to far left ideology...I'm just not sure if that is the best way to bring the bulk of folks (in the middle) towards favorable views of the right side...
anyone who did grave murders but are attacked in a way you don't like sc justices and I'll might as well add 911 victims' relatives
Frankly, it is people like you who have made her what she is-- but I wouldn't particularly describe it as a victim. She is feeling the response in a heavier handbag she carries which is stuffed with money from the sale of her books and personal appearances. She's not Clintonian in this last regard but I imagine she is doing well. Why defend the congressman? Because he made a pretty funny joke about a public figure. Ugly is standard fare for attempts at comedy. I don't pillory people for making jokes about public figures. You are making a mountain out of a molehill.
