I mean, the refs did take out our superstar rim defender. So the refs kind of did have a large part in "giving up layupdrills to the opposing team."
serious question, when was the last time one of our opponents top players was thrown out for infractions as small as dwights in the last two games?
"As small as Dwight's infractions...." to clarify you mean shoving Nene very hard right in front of the ref and placing his hands around Dudley's neck region/shoulders right in front of the ref??? Dwight has been in the league long enough to know what generates technicals. When the going gets rough, Dwight has a history of getting tossed because he wants out of the situation. Would not be surprised if it was intentional against OKC because he was being humiliated at the free throw line and knew that was a way out of the embarrassment.
Trade Jones and Brewer or KJ..two of three for a solid rebounder that can also score 5-10 points a game that can protect Dwight's backside when he leaves the paint. Oh and they must hit free throws. We don't need TJ/Brewer to score 15 points give or take inconsistently every 3-4 games. They lay more goose eggs consistently as we wait for them to have decent nights. Just need a guy to score 5-10 points consistently and can grab 5-10 rebounds a night that the Rox can DEPEND ON. By default the defense would improve due to rebounds and more buckets versus bricks.
it is the refs AND other things. rockets do suck, mainly on defense. but refs are a complete joke. game 1 vs blazers rockets get no fts in the first half? yeah ****in right.
This report has Rockets in may happen trade for Rudy Gay: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...available-here-are-five-deals-that-make-sense
If you don't think the refs are targeting Howard and cost us these last two games. Then something is clearly wrong with you thread starter.
I never really complain about the refs but the last two games have been really questioning that idea. The Rockets defense has sucked all year, and people are blaming the coaching staff but its the same staff as last year minus McHale and we were pretty good last year and have been awful from the first game this year. Its going to be interesting to see how Dwight is officiated from now on after the Rockets brass has went public with criticism of the officials in the press.
This team's using the refs as an excuse, and that's a really bad sign. They may have made some bad calls in the past couple of games, and maybe they do pick on Dwight. But this isn't the time to be pointing fingers at anyone but themselves. They should have been good enough to beat Washington with or without bad calls. It just looks bad to be making a big stink about the officiating when the team isn't getting it done. Would there have been this much bellyaching about the refs if they had won the past couple of games? Doubtful.
Yes, if the Refs weren't trying to screw us, we would be just as good as Spurs and Warriors. Harden should be going to the line 30 times a game, not just 11 times a game
yes thats what i meant. probably best answer i could hope for is someone could just mention the smallest infractions that have gotten top players of our opponents ejected from games in the past few years on technicals or flagrants.
I think league knows about us being reffed differently. Players certainly know in regards to how they now defend D12.
How are the Warriors and the Spurs combined 45-1 at home when neither of them has lost a home game this season?
Great point, we all need to realize the championships are won with Defense. We play zero D, every time I watch the Rockets we give up at least 55 or more points at half time and then come out sluggish for the 3rd qtr. It's simple for me, if you play D you play, if not have a seat. This is sickening, I know Thibs isn't an offensive coach, however, we only run PnR and kick out for 3 pointers.
If you have Jason Terry guarding John Wall or any PG on any team...you will never win. I understand JET can shot the 3, but there is no way he can guard any PG in this league any more. I rather see the unproven KJ McDaniels or Thornton. Also, when Capela and Howard were in the starting lineup...the Rockets were playing better than with Brewer in the starting line up.
Take Dwight out of the discussion for a second... How do you explain a missed call 7:36 when Wall grabbed Capela's arm and no foul was called? (led to a fast break - foul on Harden - 1 FT made) How to do explain JB getting a Tech for trying to call a timeout? (1 FT made) How do you explain a foul on Bev for tripping Dudley when Bev is running IN FRONT of Dudley? (2 FTs made) How do you explain Harden getting pushed to the ground (loose ball foul-in the penalty), and no call? (-2 FTs). John Wall got this call the very next play down. How do you explain a no call for Harden on the shove from Dudley with 2 seconds left? (-2 FTs) That's a total of 8 points the Rockets got screwed out of AFTER Dwight got kicked out of the game. Oh and might I remind you, Rockets lost by 1.
