It's not about the money! It's the later part of what you said; right draft picks and smart FA signings.... I don't trust Nick and Jack!

Nick hasn't won a trade since he's been here and his draft picks aren't much to wrote home about either

It was an internal hire. And assume it was another Easterby-influenced hire. Someone willing to tow the company line and not ruffle any feathers.

Won a trade? He has been trading low draft picks or guys that were going to be cut. The only real trade was the Roby trade and that was a good return for him.

Jack Easterby is not involved in player movement and draft. Why? Because when he is involved in that…he becomes expendable if those goes wrong. It is exposes his job to termination. If you are “Littlefinger”, you don’t get involved in that.

Seriously you are the only poster who can see a picture of Easterby sitting right next to Caserio in the war room for the first pick of his tenure and say he isn't involved. Guess he was there for moral support...

I have been to funerals that were more festive than NRG.

He is part of the football operation. I'm sure he lends his opinion. He doesn't make the decisions.

Easterby negotiated Watson’s contract as well, gave him that no trade clause.

That was before Caserio was here. There is a CLEAR line when Easterby went back to his non on-field role.

I don’t fault them for Watson’s deal vs Mercilus, Fairbairn, Murray, Cobb, etc…Those were awful deals from the very start. Yet the guy is still standing maybe stronger than ever.

Simply amazing that some continue to downplay Easterby’s role in all this mess.

It will take someone on the inside to expose more from the McNairs and Im almost positive there is more to expose. They have built up an insulated management team of "yes men" that are aligned politically and fundamentally so its going to be a tough task. If you have an owner openly being callous among strangers like Daddy McNair was and now his Billy Madison of a son then there is plenty to dig up IMO.

Rick Smith? - if anyone knows anything I'd bet he would be a good source to start with.

Cal seems pretty insulated, hands off, and more than likely an idiot that nobody takes seriously.

Tillman would probably be more of the Sarver type.

Also I would venture most of the other NFL owners are of the Sarver type... and if the WFT scandal was able to be covered up, its unlikely the NFL will allow any story like this to get out there.

Don’t besmirch the good name of Billy Madison, at least he was smart enough to realize he couldn’t and shouldn’t run the company. Cal isn’t that bright.

You can't underestimate his role in this. Easterby is a completely unqualified person to judge NFL talent, or negotiate contracts, yet he has been at the center of most of the bad moves and contracts that have torpedoed the roster and salary cap. Imagine having the worst roster in the league *and* spending as much money as the Texans have over the last two years! All of this is besides the fact that Easterby is corrupt to the core- he saved his own job by locking up Caserio to one of the most lucrative GM contracts in the league while sharing the same manager. Cal is the ultimate cancer on football in Houston, but Easterby is certainly one of the festering tumors that needs to be cut out before the host dies on the operating table.

This. If we don’t attend the game, the Texans will lose money. I hope they learn the lesson and start putting good products on the field.

Texans won't lose money....LOL. You don't understand the finances of the modern NFL.
