Unfortunately, they don't suck as bad as the Astros... Hell, EVERYBODY in the NL Comedy Central sucks...
ahhh...the magic of cowboys and yankees fans. pointing to championships years ago to remind themselves how great they are now.
Caught the teaser for Sportscenter last night. The first 3 stories were: Clemens last minor league start before joining the Yankees Yankees standing in their division Eli Manning and the Giants Hmmmm....
nah, it's just fun to watch them lose. it's such a soap opera there.... went to see the Red Sox clobber the Rangers this weekend. you'll never catch 'em. i'm not sure anyone will.
And I would counter with "Only MLB team to blow a 3-0 series lead in the MLB playoffs." This season has looked to be almost too good to be true. I am still cautiously optimistic, but I won't consider the Yankees to be buried until they are 20 games out with 19 games left to go.
Yep, no one else on this board mentions championships from as long ago as '94 or '95 when talking to fans of teams that are without titles. Third longest title drought in MLB history 1918-2004. Using results to argue with Yankee fans is a losing proposition guys, it is the most successful franchise in the history of the big three sports.
Yea, but the fact remains that YOUR team choked (in epic proportions) to MY team in a comeback that has never been seen before is something that you and all Yankee fans can never live down. I mean I will ask you this question, Hydra: Were you even a Yankees fan back when they won their last World Series in 2000? Or did you hop on the bandwagon (apparently at the wrong time) after the 2000 season? I mean dusting off those old WS championships really does you a lot of good, especially those that were won before you were born, lol.
I was actually. I got to see 4 glorious championships for my Yankees. That would be four times as many as the Red Sux have won in any of our lifetimes, and 4 more than the LAstros have won ever. I will say that the ALCS choke to the Red Sox was about the only time that I disagreed with Joe Torres managing. I would have rested the bullpen in game 5 and had them come back fresh with two games remaining. Instead they got more and more strung out as the series wore on, and they were never able to hold a lead.
