Doesn't matter how good your help and team defense is when you have 2 of the weakest defenders in the league in our starting lineup. What can we do about it?
Trade Brooks Start Lowry Trade Martin Trade Battier for a better defensive player Trade Scola for a shotblocker at PF
Trade Brooks. He's probably the worst defender of the two and Kmart is more important to the team anyway cause he's the better player. Trade him to the Bobcats with the aging Battier for the G-Force. Start Lowry and he's able to guard some SGs at on spot minutes. Defense would be much improved with Lowry and Gerald Wallace with his athletism. Also our toughness, pace, rebounding, and fouls drawn would be GREATLY increased with Lowry and Wallace on the floor. Not to mention Gerald Wallace can actually put up around 20 a game too...
Brooks for Rondo Martin for Rudy Gay Battier for Gearld Wallace Scola for Josh Smith Yao for Dwight Fire Adelman Hire JVG
Yeah but he plays more like a SG ala Brooks. A lot of people are saying that's his real position. But having a 6'4" guard to defene other 2s that Kmart has problems with would be nice.
Wouldn't the Gay for Martin trade make our defense worse? How about Scola for Duncan, instead of Smith. We need somebody to match up the elite 7'ft PFs.
Yeah... and he guards the toughness players every nite. He can't shut everyone down by himself. And Brooks still got lit up by Curry(28pts) and Ellis even though he lit us all up. The other game against the Lakers Shannon Brown and Steve Blake drained 3s right over him. If he ain't hitting his shots he is useless and he isn't so far, shooting 35% from the field with a low 3pt% too.
I wouldnt object ot a K-Mart trade....I have been wanting him to come to the Rockets for 3 years now...But dudes defense is horrible........AB trade bait anyway....I would trade both for Agent Zero and Hinrich.......Then trade Battier and Jeffries for a pick, to free up cap space.........Maybe I sound stupid but oh well ...They need to do something
Actually, I can live with his defense if he would pressure the ball handler more. With his speed, though he lacks great height, Brooks should be able to pressure ball handlers.
