It's hard to be passionate about this team

You're obviously new here if you feel the need to question the fact that heypartner bleeds Rockets red. It's beyond silly to any of us that have been here long enough to know the major personalities that post here.

heypartner has lived, breathed, eaten, and shat The Rockets probably since before you were born. I consider myself a huge fan. Though I work a lot of nights I almost never miss a game. I've been a Rockets superfan since the mid-1970s and so has HP. I am such a fan everyone I ever work with knows never to speak of in-progress games while we're working (my work is rehearsing plays, I'm a theatre director). They know I'm recording them to watch as soon as I get home. My theatre has been known to postpone performances for more than an hour because a Rockets playoff game ran long. In one of our original productions, in the 90s, we had a scene in which many of history's villains were gathered--Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Genghis Khan, Skeletor, and the hated Utah Jazz. I could go on. But it's not about me.

I don't say any of that to prove my fan cred. I'm a superfan for sure but I said all that to say that heypartner is the only person I know that's an even BIGGER Rockets fan than I am.

    You're misunderstanding his posts.

I know the league has changed a lot but the fact that we have one superstar and a bunch of role players reminds me of the first championship from ANY Houston team.

If your superstar is good enough, it's not a terrible idea to surround him with complementary players, though surely Morey is always trying to get another star. It's not easy. The man hardly sleeps though. He never stops working.

I'm happy with where we're at and I'll be happier still when there's resolution with or without D-Mo and we make one more move. Brewer even sniffing a starting spot, no matter how many are injured (not that many), means we're at least an important player away. You can be assured Morey is more than aware of that and working to change it. He's got a pretty darn good record and I expect our team after the trade deadline to be improved from our current roster.

Guys, I can't wait to see this defense with a healthy Bev guarding the perimeter, as well as giving us that 12 points a game that we are desperately missing. Eric Gordon will be able to chill out a little bit and focus on attacking on offense.

    Excited.

Word. Basically replacing Brewer with a person who will hit 10-15% more of his 3's, defend better, turn it over less, pass the ball better, eliminate the need for Ennis, and even help on the offensive boards a bit. We will lose some Brewer transition plays. Worth it.

Now if we can also bring in DMo to fight for some PF/C minutes, that could give us a nice little bump too.

It is hard to be passionate about part of the FO and ownership but the team should be above all.

HP - your video clips this year are worthy of post-season accolades, CF of the Year, Most Valuable CF. I must have missed the explanation -- are you now in a special role w the Rockets, CF or just won the lottery and have an abundance of free time and are a benefactor of the masses? (Also, the insight is next level good).

I second this. Life changes. My fandom is no less but work and kids get more of my time. I will say though my 4 year old sat on the couch and watched a whole half of the game against the Spurs last night and was getting into it.

Maybe you (Rileydog) are just going through that season that all old dogs go through. It happens to all of us. We just don't get it up for the same things we used to. It takes more to get us excited.

I will say, to echo what others have already written, this version is SO much more fun than last years. IMHO.

So I turned on the TV thinking the Rockets were playing tonight, only to find out it's tomorrow.

I am pleased to report that I felt severely disappointed because I was excited to watch the game. Had my chips and beer, cleared out space on the best couch, told people to hush. Like the old days!

Yeah you're not a real Rockets fan. You do not even know when the Rockets schedule and when they play.
