I'm not quite sure, except it was reported we had an interest and he chose Dallas as where he preferred to be dealt. It's really not my issue with the team. I just blurted out Bogut name because it came to me. Hey HP, I think I once called Cuttino Mobley the most selfish SOB in the league and it really ticked someone off. ... I seem to recall it might have been you. Am I remembering correctly? Those were frustrating but good times. Stevie's dribblemania, him and cutting declaring that if we had Lamar Odom, it would be ovah!
Sir, I served with Rileydog as a season-ticketholder and cfnet brethren. I know Rileydog. Rileydog is a bbs mate of mine. Sir, you are no Rileydog
You must be young. So much Internet chest beating. Some people think a true fan will blindly approve what's going on with the team no matter what. Others think that truly loving a team is seeing it clearly for what it is, good and bad, not being satisfied with mediocrity, being periodically disgusted with the mess before it, and holding the team accountable to the extent we can. Kind of like two schools of thought on parenting. I'm sure you can guess which one I subscribe to.
Me or @SmeggySmeg, probably. Say what you want about Cat, but no one can deny he was the Sexiest Player in the league. I can't believe nappy-head Kobe beat him in one of the ESPN bracketed fan voting contest for "Sexiest Player"
No, you're right, I am not, however, it would be a damn cold day in hell before I post this kind of garbage on a fan board and consider myself a fan of a team. 82-0, 0-82 or 3-79 and anything in between, I am with this team WIN OR LOSE.
Don't think too much about it, brocephus, it'll come. Last year was rough because we all thought we'd go up from our WCF. Instead we fell flat. Just keep watching our guys get the offensive engine purring and the rhythm will lull you back. Rox4LIFE!
how can you not be passionate about this team when our biggest offseason acquisition is an 80 million dollar one dimensional spot up shooter?
It's hard to be passionate for a fringe playoff team especially the way they play defense (non-existent). As horrible as they were with Howard last year on the interior, it's even worse this year. The Rockets are pretty much a one player team, something I used to criticize heavily in the past when certain teams had that kind of system in place (Kobe and the Lakers, Tmac on the Magic). I really don't care if Harden is putting up numbers, that's not how I like watching basketball.
I like the team and players more than last year, but I am not passionate because they frustrate me when they do things they don't do well over and over and over again. If you practice something, get better, and then integrate into the game I'm with u. If u continue to do something you know you suck at then u just give me a headache. All that said I love watching the ball go through the hoop this year with Anderson 3's and Harden. Enjoy watching Capela score around the rim.
Honestly, I see this posted a lot. How long do we keep saying this until we finally say "He's just not gonna get there?"
I don't know. When Harden griped and whined publicly about being overlooked for MVP. It makes it seem like Anderson was Dwight's replacement to appease Harden. Anderson spaces the floor but also without Dwight there goes the only other guy who competed for touches or take away room for Harden to drive. Everyone else he can now tell to get out or ignore whenever he likes. If he were on another team this board would be all over him for being a stat hound.
This team hasn't won me over yet but it's early. Harden is always Harden. But, the rest of the team...no one really stands out to me as of yet. They might as well be a bunch of nameless faces with a few exceptions. I'm not impressed that we beat a Dirk-less Mavs team twice. We haven't done much. The idea that we don't really have a bona fide center who can shore up the defense is what really bothers me. Clint scares me as starting center. He has way too much inconsistency in his game and he is not a defensive presence most nights. Unless something changes drastically, I don't like the defensive side of this team and the idea that we are just going to outscore our opponents on our way to a successful season is poppycock. I see a .500 team at best currently.
I would say more that I'm pessimistic rather than not passionate. It seems like Les gave up on the "3 stars plan" and instead of gathering assets went out and got "a real coach and shooters" like much of the BBS wanted.
I just don't believe this team can be a legitimate threat so long as Harden is the only player on the team that is capable of even sniffing an All-Star game. Currently, I think Eric Gordon is probably our second best player. That's a problem. Put Eric Gordon on the Cavs and he's probably the fourth or fifth best player. Put him on the Warriors and he's maybe the 6th or 7th best player. Put him on the Spurs he's probably the fourth or fifth best player. Etc etc etc. That's how far away we are from being competitive.
It's not exciting to see Harden wasting his talent with little to no help. It's not exciting to see us ole everyone to the bucket. It's not exciting to see our $20 million man Ryan Anderson get muscled around and be a non-factor in second halves. There's always the trade deadline to hope for some help: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/future_free_agents/2018/U/Per_Game/0/NBA/player
