This was the worst thing about Silas. The children clearly needed instruction on the simplest, rudimentary basketball stuff and he refused to teach it. They for real needed to go back to basics because that was what they struggled with the most. Silas truthers would run cover for Silas and say the man was hired to coach Harden and Russ not kids and sh*t.

Im glad ime doesn't have enough pride to not teach professionals the basics of basketball. you gotta build the foundation. there is no calculus without algebra.

I think being a former NBA player helps with his credibility with the players.
On this point alone, I think our guys are willing to do things for Ime they might have questioned or resisted with Silas.

Watch it now, you are encroaching on Sengun territory and his fans.

When we can finalize Sengun as PF or Center....then we can get the other.

Until then, the Rockets will remain in phase II

The problem is MUCH deeper than box outs....I found this very informative...Golden state down screened us silly. This shows you some of the defensive lapses...and, it's absolutely across the board...young, old, veteran...EVERYBODY. I'm not smart enough to know every defensive assignment on every play....but, goodness this sure what's happening. Down screens...my goodness...unreal. I hope we are talking to each other more...and, from this film session, there is a lot of accountability needed. If you want to be in someone's face, make sure you've got it right as well. We NEED the communication.

Naw that's Silas truther talk. there were no egos (maybe except KPJ) on the team. Everyone came in doing whatever you asked them to do. I mean, Jalen was pleading for wood to show them how it was supposed to be done. Sengun asked Silas to bully him and coach him harder. The children were willing from jump. Silas didnt teach them at all.

Credibility is the currency of leaders. If you can't get it, you are no leader.
If people is willing to do more things for Mr Udoka, that is exactly the definition of a better coach. It may be connection, credentials, relationships. To us, it doesn't matter. They perform better.

Its not that hard, and that's why we have been complaining about Silas's bad leadership for years.

I can’t put it all on Silas. Any coach on the sideline should’ve seen this as a need of improvement and spoke up.

Silas was not a good coach, he needs a completely professional VETERAN team to do well, he has no attention to details.

IMe has someone watching the game, editing clips in real time and then going over those clips in real time correcting small errors.

THAT is attention to detail that young teams need.

I’m. It disagree with you, but I don’t need someone beside me to point out this team doesn’t box out or get back in transition. Its was blatantly obvious

There was zero reason for the players to respect Silas. He allowed them to do whatever they wanted and didn't stick up for himself (evidenced by Rafael interrupting practices).

Silas was just not a good head coach. He may be a good assistant coach, but he does not have the spine to be a good head coach.

I will defend Silas on one point. The skill set required to coach a veteran team is a bit different than that to coach a rookie one.
Silas was hired to coach a veteran team and got a rookie one instead.

I don't disagree with you, but you still have to get the respect of the veteran's. I'm not quite sure Silas would have had the respect of a veteran team and he most likely would of flaked out. There is nothing wrong with being a player's coach (Mike D is a perfect example), but you do have to have a spine to call out people on their BS and I don't think Silas had this. He just wanted to be a friend to players, which is why he had good friendships with John Wall and Eric Gordon.

I suppose we wont know for sure until Silas has an opportunity as HC on a veteran team.

John Wall and Eric Gordan were both veteran players.

After what Ime has been able to accomplish in such a short period of time, I would be extremely surprised if Silas ever gets another chance.
