There is just something missing. Can't quite put my finger on it, but it seems like the magic is dying.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. It's too internal. The show needs to contrast these characters against normal and sane human beings.
if they were doing that, the same people complaining now would be complaining that the show doesn't ever change.
The problems are that they set the bar so high. The show is still good, but not as revolutionarily good as before. So it seems disappointing. Also they seem to be lacking inspiration. They appear to be following the formula of the Mac Character is a certain way, and they just fill in lines they think go along with the character. It would be inspired if they found situations where the characters can explore and develop their quirks (i.e. the characters start using visualizing self help techniques, and attempt to do a home makeover. ) That situation and those characters together equals comedy gold.
I apparently was the only one to love this episode. Poppins, "So Charlie doesn't die", Charles Grodin. I loved it. The Dee/Frank sub-plot was meh at best, but still had it's moments ("Magoo wouldn't have done that").
I liked it too. OCD (real-life) isn't funny...but Charlie getting Mac to buy into it towards the end of the episode was an lol moment for me. 123, 123, 123... And the question must now be addressed...who got Dee pregnant? Ponderosa? Cricket? The soldier? Who!!!?!
Absolutely true, Dennis was rolling Rick Astley before it got cool again. And the random times they're harmonizing is a nice touch.
Yeah I guess I'm in the minority but I was a big fan of the last ep as well. Pretty much every interaction between Charlie and his mom is golden
Nope, from everything I have read and watched outside the show, he and the guys are very close friends.
