I suppose you could argue that 30 rock has to work harder to be funny since the dialogue and situations are restricted. But I think there is more dificulty in retaining the humor that Sunny has since the main approach of drugs/alcohol/cursing is shock, and Sunny still has not gone stale. And Sunny always manages to tie up the A and B plot together in the end that manages to screw over all but 1 of the gang in a way that Seinfeld always worked the coincidence angle in the end of its episodes. All the while coining new phrases in their dialogue, something no other show has really gone out of their way to try, except for Arrested. -popping the shirt -blowing up my spot -big leaguing me -bozo -dayman/nightman/green man
Not a big 30 Rock fan. It's only the 3rd best comedy of Thursday night on NBC imo. I think this is the funniest show on tv right now, I think it just edges out Curb Your Enthusiasm, but i'm not quite sure. I can't believe I did not even start watching this show till a couple weeks ago, I had definitely been missing out.
Sometimes I feel that 30 Rock reads better as a script than it plays out on TV. I still love that show. Both Sunny and 30 can be hit and miss. Charlie Day though, is the most outstanding comedic actor. His little improves, facial expressions, timing...he's pretty much perfected the funniest character on TV.
Did anyone else see the Greenman at the Rockets game Saturday Night? He was in the lower levels, not too far from the middle. After a few beers, I was chanting "GREEN-MAN! instead of DE-FENSE!"
Yeah I saw him. Greenman is a social icon now. Even one of the a&m basketball players wore a greenman outfit to midnight yell.
Haha yeah. Oh charlie. What did he say? something like "I here too for claim, that the contract had dry ink on it for fork-nights" ahahaha. This half episode is easily the best episode of the season. Hahahaha the baby dick side of the towl. Dicktowels.com ahahahah so good.
I was going to log in and say that I'd like to see the attorney more. I think his character can continue to develop to be a humorous thorn in the side for the gang. I thought the first half of last night's episode was average funny...but once they all showed up in the attorney's office at the same time...I couldn't stop laughing. Fork night! hahahahahahaha
