LOL, so now your argument has shape-shifted to be that the 15-day shutdown led to the massive increase in the monetary base? That's absurd. It wasn't the 15-day shutdown -- it was the MONTHS LONG shutdown that democrat states imposed on the economy. They wrecked the economy because they were paralyzed by fear over a virus leaked by the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It was a massive and unnecessary overreaction that slaughtered the economy. Wow -- if that's lost on you then I fear further discussion is truly hopeless!

Trump is the only President who can restore economic growth and prosperity -- especially for lower- and middle-class Americans. Biden is just lost on everything and has horrible financial instincts. He's blaming shrinkflation for inflation -- just absurd... and he probably knows it's absurd, but he's willing to lie and deceive. Always has been!

Trump plans on implementing a 10% universal tariff on all goods coming from any country. Will this help with inflation? Yes or no?

Trump plans on deporting 11 million illegals including over a million of low wage illegals who work in agriculture. Will deporting low wage workers in agriculture help with inflation? Yes or no?

Trump has no feasible plan for the economy and never has. He took over a steady economy from Obama which had been manufacturing jobs for 5 years straight and slapped a huge tax cut on it.

Trump has no economic plan. None

Extending Aca subsidies which over 20 million middle class Americans rely on? Folks making under 70k get free access to affordable cheap health care

Building 2 million new homes which is part of his budget which will drive down costs

Deregulation of the construction process to fight back against NIMBYs.

Tackling junk fees to save Americans billions like eliminating late fees for credit card payments, ending overdraft fees, eliminating check baggage fees nd other junk fees

Breaking up monopolies which give Americans a fair share

Expand his SAVE plan which ensures no american making under 70k will pay any money for student loans which will allow folks to get more skills from trade schools?

You folks really don't use your brain

as POTUS, Trump never had a plan
    • to replace Obama Care,
    • to implement an infrastructure bill

Whenever I get into a debate with folks about Trump in real life I simply ask them these two questions and they can never respond. Universal tariffs on every imported good + deporting millions of low wage slave labor will drive up inflation like nothing we've seen.

If you think grocery prices are high now wait till farmers in Florida have to pay folks 3x what they're paying now. I'm sure that will help with inflation.

These people are so brainwashed @El_Conquistador

@adoo it's honestly funny how wall street and investment banks who support Trump even claim the economy is doing well but MAGATs will argue otherwise

    lmao.

People can try and highlight these economic considerations all they want. It's falling on deaf ears as seen by every metric.

COST is the issue most influencing people and its absolutely murdering Biden.

Again when you ask folks about their PERSONAL SITUATION the vast majority of folks are doing quite well. Folks only complain about the economy when you talk about the NATIONAL ECONOMY

Folks are not saying their personal situation sucks. They say the national economy sucks cuz of MAGA disinformation and MSM

I'm sorry but why would I give a flying fk what some random pundits have to say. What a braindead moronic response to my post.

Housing costs are ridiculously high and make up 1/3 of the inflation we've seen in the past year. The solution is lowering interest rates and building more housing.

    It's a very easy solution

What's a more reasonable belief, Biden is polling terribly including amongst his base because of right wing misinformation which they never watch or because people are upset about the cost of groceries, insurance, rent etc etc which is totally unavoidable and killing their pocketbooks everyday?

    Talk about braindead.

@HTM, this post from page 116 warrants repeating,

The economic achievements of the Biden admin, thus far include but not limited to
    • avg job creation > 100K every month, 40 consecutive months
    • the lowest unemployment % ever in US history
    • GDP growing every quarter, 13 consecutive quarters
    • signed into law the largest infrastructure bill ever in US history
    • etc.
But Bidenomics has been the victim of rampant swiftboating, untrue / unfair political attacks, and they are working.

Recently, UK's Guardian news outlet hired the Harris company to conduct a poll, asking the question , "do you know how the US economy is doing?"

Nearly three in five Americans wrongly believe the US is in an economic recession, and the majority blame the Biden administration, according to a Harris poll conducted exclusively for the Guardian.
The survey found persistent pessimism about the economy as election day draws closer.

    • 55% believe the economy is shrinking, and 56% think the US is experiencing a recession, though the broadest measure of the economy, gross domestic product (GDP), has been growing.
    • 49% believe the S&P 500 stock market index is down for the year, though the index went up about 24% in 2023 and is up more than 12% this year.
    • 49% believe that unemployment is at a 50-year high, though the unemployment rate has been under 4%, a near 50-year low.
I give the Biden team a F grade for its inability to control the narrative, to lead the public along.to understand / appreciate the accomplishments of Bidenomics

Taxing the wealthy more, affordable child care, loan forgiveness.

Now name the policies that Trump would implement. Someone claimed that he would help the middle class so i was genuinely curious what Trump would do.

Dude, people voted for an incoherent game show host who's been a punchline for 30 years, and they did it again, and will do it once more in a few months. You don't think misinformation has some sway here?

Dude, you don't think Biden is paying a political cost for inflation and the cost of essentials like groceries, rent, cars, insurance etc etc?

I doubt right wing misinformation is the reason base voters are extremely unenthusiastic about Biden and why he is polling terribly?

I think the reason people are unenthusiastic about Biden/the reason he is polling terribly is the cost of everything now compared to a few years ago.

Or maybe people believe the economy is doing terribly because their personal financial situation is terrible? The costs of their groceries/rent/cars/insurance etc etc.

I also think this is the reason he's polling low but what can Biden really do to bring the cost anymore than he's done? The misinformation is that people think things would be much better under Trump, I think that's a complete lie.

Maybe it won't get better under Trump but he's not the one in office. The dude in office pays the price for peoples dissatisfaction with inflation/costs. That's how it's always been.

Some Presidents put policies in place that their successor benefits from politically. Is that fair? That's just how the world works.
