Congrats! My wife just had our first child on the 19th, 8 lbs 13 oz, 21 in boy. The diapers are awful, and they'll actually start changing colors over the next week.
Good news. My little dude just turned 1. Craziest year of my life. Pray to every God you know that she doesn't get colic.

Congratulations! As the baby's system works through what had already been in there and processes the new stuff (breastmilk or formula), you get a few different colors of diaper filling before it settles on a more normal one. If she does get colic/ becomes fussy, I think that stuff usually works itself out in the first couple of months. I like the idea of making the half-birthday a bigger thing for her than the actual birthday. The timing will be better.
