It's a bit early, but who should play The Joker?

I watched Batman Forever yesterday and was thinking about who would play these villans in the new movies.

I find it VERY hard to believe anyone would play the Joker, the Riddler better then the original actors.

I think it shows though that as long as you get quality actors who arent just getting a pay check.....you'll get the character you want.

Just on the old movies...didnt they turn Batman into a b*atch! And Robin.....someone please tell me Robin will never be thrown into the new movies at some point!

If they get a serious actor to play Joker, that person will BLOW AWAY Jack Nicholson’s Joker.

As much as I liked Nicholson in the first Batman, that performance was firmly rooted in the stylized, over-the-top world that Tim Burton created.

A Christopher Nolan Joker will be a frightening homicidal maniac that makes your stomach turn. You will never see the Joker prance around a museum defacing portraits while Prince plays in the background in the next film.

Honestly, I don’t even like comparing Batman Begins to any of the Batman movies that came before it. Even the first Tim Burton Batman has a totally different feel (stylized) than Batman Begins (gritty, realistic). Likewise, these Jokers will be totally different.

I think the Kid that Batman gives the scope to in "The Narrows" and that shows up with his DA girlfriend in the climax MIGHT have something to do with Robin...just a thought

I watched Batman Begins, and it was pretty good - it was cool to see how it all began. But really, this is where the series should end. There is no where else for it to go. I mean how many times can you recycle the same stuff AND the SAME villians over and over again. It's ridiculous. Are we actually going to see another joker movie, and then another penguin movie, and then another riddler movie, and then another Mr. Freeze movie. Are we going to see a different batman in every movie too?

If they're going to do this, then what's next.. a remake of Titanic or Spiderman..

i've heard/read (name botch alert) liev schriebner is rumored to be nolan's choice; that he'll appear in 2 as dent and then become two-face in three (nolan wants to do a trilogy). remember, the DA goes missing in this one, so that rumor makes a lot of sense, and i think he'd be good.

roth and glover have to be the only joker candidates. HAVE TO BE!!

i was told that Batman Begins was actually the prequel to the original Batman (Jack Nicholson's Joker).. meaning there will not be another Joker.

    Has anyone else heard this?

No it's not a prequal. It's a series reset. They're trying to redo the series with a new style.

An awesome Photoshop job of Crispin Glover as the Joker:

I like Crispin Glover as the Joker as well...but assuming they couldn't get him or didn't want to deal with his eccentricities, I think Tim Roth would make for an excellent Joker also.

Really, I'm not worried at all about the sequel. Almost all the right decisions were made for the first movie, and assuming they keep most of the same decision makers around, I have every confidence that whoever they get will be more than capable of doing an excellent job.

i reckon crispin glover would be a better riddler than joker. i'd choose william dafoe or the actor who plays the flamboyantly gay guy in that sitcom about a woman sharing an apartment with a gay guy.
