I would not want Wallce on the Rockets. If we get him, then that's the day I stop watching or supporting the Rockets. He is a sack of sh*t, and a sorry excuse of a human being. I don't care if he scores 50 points a game. He can do that else where. Think about it.. He'll be 10 times worse than Pippen was for the chemistry of the team. I know the days of classy atheletes are gone, but Bonds, Wallace, Sprewell should only play in Houston as visitors far as I'm concerned.
Oh, and since we're all being so pc on this forum, I'd like to add that Bonds, Sprewell, and Wallace all being black are a coincidence. Nothing racist. I know the picture comparison wasn't racially motivated, but you have to understand gram! for taking it that way. Lt's make up and move on.
Think again after reading the recap of portland's last night game recap. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=221204022 PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- If the Portland Trail Blazers were bothered by the beating they had just absorbed, it was hard to tell in the locker room afterward. Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 15 rebounds and Steve Nash added 20 points, five assists and four rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Blazers 103-88 After getting soundly beaten by the league's hottest team, some of the Blazers gathered around a TV to watch the closing minutes of the Indiana-Seattle game before showering. Bonzi Wells was soliciting bets as to what Gary Payton would do with the ball in the final minute, and others were talking trash about Ron Artest. When Payton made a shot to give the Sonics the lead, Rasheed Wallace, Wells and others cheered loudly, prompting reserve Antonio Daniels to mutter, "We just got beat by 20, and they're cheering on a team in our own division.'' When Wells noticed the gathering media, he said to no one in particular, "I'm not going out tonight. I'm just going to go home and think about the game and what I could have done better.'' Seconds later, Indiana tied the game on a 3 by Artest, evoking an even louder round of hysterics. When co-captain Scottie Pippen emerged from the shower to see what was going on, he immediately turned off the TV and closed the cabinet, even though the game was tied with seconds remaining. When asked why he did it, a cautious Pippen said, "Players have got to address the media, and you've (the media) got to talk to the players.'' The locker room display was indicative of the enigmatic Blazers, who played at times like they expected to lose and were OK with it, a sentiment that coach Maurice Cheeks touched on. "Just look at their record,'' he said. "We're not the only ones that haven't gotten to them.'' Michael Finley had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks, who won their third in a row to improve the NBA's best record to 17-1. "In the second half, we were really good,'' Dallas coach Don Nelson said. "We did everything that we needed to do to win.'' Wallace scored a season-high 34 points for the Blazers, who lost their second straight and third in four games. Derek Anderson had 13 points and eight assists. Dale Davis added a season-high 15 points and 12 rebounds. Portland is 1-3 on its current five-game homestand, with a stretch of seven out of eight road games looming. Asked if he was upset with the way Portland handles losses, Pippen said: "Some guys accept losses different. You can't change who you are as a person just because you just lost a game.'' Portland has only managed to put together consecutive wins once this year, and fans are not happy with a team that was supposed to be improved. "We're not playing hard enough and we're not playing smart enough,'' Pippen said. "I can only speak for myself, (but) we're not happy with where we are. We've struggled. All in all we're not playing well enough to be considered one of the elite teams.'' Ruben Patterson, playing in his first game since prosecutors decided not to pursue felony domestic abuse charges against him, had four points in 14 minutes. He received a lukewarm reaction from the crowd when introduced. Damon Stoudamire, another Blazer recently in legal trouble, was 1-for-5 in 16 minutes. After a sluggish first quarter, Dallas' final six field goals of the half were 3-pointers. Dallas made eight 3s in the quarter and 11 for the half, one off the NBA record. "In the second quarter, we had one of those runs that we are capable of,'' Nash said. "When we get hot from the 3-point line it stretches their defense.'' The Mavs pulled away to start the fourth quarter with a 12-6 run that took all the life out of the Blazers and the home crowd. Dallas was 13-of-28 from 3-point distance while the Blazers were just 3-for-17. The first-half long-distance barrage sparked a 14-2 Dallas run that gave the Mavs a 54-45 halftime lead. Game notes Dallas shares the record for 3-pointers in a half with three other teams. The Mavs sank 12 3s at Denver on Feb. 29, 1996. ... Dallas played without forward Eduardo Najera, who missed the game with a sore left knee. ... Six teams have started the season 17-1 or better, most recently the 1996-97 Chicago Bulls, who went on to win the NBA championship.
Can someone pass the Asprin cause that is what the Rocket organization, coaches, teammates, and fans will need if they aquire R. Wallace.
Scottie Pippen is the best player in the world??? Are u kidding me?? Pippen sucks, he sucked here and he sucks in portland...newsflash..Pip ain't jack with out MJ.....I think you have your ex-bulls mixed up..i think you meant number 23 was the greatest...not his side show 33...ANTI-pippen...and o yea, trading mobley, rice, taylor, and griffin for Anderson, and Wallace...are you kidding...you may as well throw in francis, rudy, the comentators, the trainer, the compaq center, and the ball boys too......thank god you are not the GM...im out....
Sorry i have to chime in again...why do you care if rasheed is a good guy..who gives a flyin S@!T, do you really care, i mean is this a community center or an NBA basketball team..sorry but i want to win a championship, not win a Noble Peace Prize..i could give a crap if rasheed is a nice guy, i dont know him, he isnt my friend or any one else's here for that matter. IF he can win, grab some boards, and put some numbers on the scoreboard, bring him here....who cares if he gets some technicals, god forbid there be a little excitement in the game!
wiredog, i feel ya son, i can't stand 'sheed wallace. all them fools on the trailblazers remind me of my alcoholic uncles, always talkin **** and gettin hauled off by tha poe-lice. we got a good set of boys that do not need a headcase like 'shard costin' them games. just be cool, mo-t will get his shot off and we will be set.
Well if I'm GM of portland I'm thinking it's time to break that overpaid underachieving crap squad of talented misfits and criminals who don't play together. I'd love to get somebody like Kenny Thomas or Cat Mobley who love basketball and live and die on the court. However, if I'm CD, I would NEVER want somebody like Rasheed Wallace on this team. He has the talent to be one of the best players and the league but often lacks the drive to do it. Some games he is one of the best, others he just doesn't show up. Maybe I wouldn't even worry about all the off the court problems with the guy if he kept them off the court. He doesn't. He has a serious attitude problem and just having him on your team is going to mean some calls are going against us down the stretch. the refs hate that guy (and rightfully so). I definitely foresee some moves being made. Possibly not this year, but they're coming. They've got their building blocks in the best young point guard in the league and the best young center in the league. Now they have to decide who they have now that fits with those two guys and who doesn't. I expect that's what they're going to do. Frankly, I'd much rather have a Ben Wallace or a Theo Ratliff next to Yao than a Rasheed Wallace. I want somebody who will play hard and do all the dirty work. One thing that concerns me about Yao is he seems so damn nice. I'd like to have somebody in there who doesn't mind doing a little enforcing when people are playing rough on Yao or Stevie, and while in some ways Rasheed Wallace can fit that bill, i'd much prefer it be a team player like Ben Wallace or Theo Ratliff. If we're going to bring back a headcase, can't we just give Vernon Maxwell a coaching job or something? hahaha
I would rather trade for KT and a supplement for Shane Battier. Memphis offered me this deal while playing NBA live 2003 in the franchise mode and this team is awesome to play. Anyway, I would love to trade for Shane Battier who is a constant, solid and down-to-earth guy which would bring some stability in our team. Of course Rasheed is awesome in a lot of aspects but I think he will also find a weed-deli in the houston area sooner or later. Cheers, Ray

Why don't the Rockets get someone who can shoot. They have no respectable consistent three point threat out there.
Yeah, Shane Battier was discussed in another thread. All for the reason you said, and because some thought that he was in the "dog house" with Brown (trade material?). But, not sure that Shane could battle with the best PFs.
Po'land might be trying to dump demon Damon and even Kobe Killer Ruben the P'son, but Wallace? They'll weed out other trash first.
I thought more about starting him on the 3 and with rice/nachbar from the bench and at the PF position MoT and Eddie Griffin. Damn I would love it. I hope they put him on the trading block and somehow we can steal him. Thats what me as swizz-dude would love to see. ray
im going to say this without getting angry... no white person should ever be compared to a chimp. that is just racist and not funny.
thats what i was going to say, but i did not want our oversensitive friend to call me racist. i like black people...they do a good job picking up my trash every friday. (that is a joke obviously, but lets see how many responses i get anyway!)
JM, I cant believe you just posted this. I realize you are joking and are just trying to stir up responses and that you dont really mean it or think it. However, even posting what you just said, even if you are just trying to be funny, offends me and I am not even african american.
Yeah, I'm all for getting a tough, no-nonsense rebounder type player like Battier, Brand (inside scoring) or Bo Outlaw. Someone that's thick, strong and loves to go into the fray and get the boards! We have enough, thin, lanky, athletic shooters/scorers. We needs some blue-collar workers. Two guys that I like to keep my eye on are Danny Fortson and Marc Jackson. Jackson was the trade from GS that fell through. He been in the doghouse in Minnesota, but lately he's played better. Ottis Thorpe in his younger days would be a good bench player for todays Rockets. Someone like that.
dude, why are you comparing ming to an elephant? are you trying to say that all asians are huge elephants? that is a racist stereotype. just because all asains have huge trunks and tusks is no reason to compare us to animals!
