Pippen wasn't the greatest player of all time, but he was one of
the best all-around players that ever played the game.

If you put away the Houston Playa-hatin, you'd see that.

Codell, the only way that I could accept Rasheed is if he knew
that he wasn't the leader of our team. Rasheed does well when
his teammate give him help. He's fearless when other players
are nailing shots. It makes his job very easy, and Rasheed relaxes!
    He becomes unstoppable.

But, when all the pressure is on Rasheed, he starts to make mistakes
and smarts off to the refs; thus, technicals and ejections occur.

Rasheed will never be a leader. But he's a good player to have on your
team as a supporting cast. But, as long as he knows it's ok that we don't
need 20ppg from him. 14ppg will do.

The player that I really want on our team is Brand.

Yep! Griff has a very smooth game inside. He doesn't have the power like
Rasheed right now but maybe he can develop that.

But, I wont want to trade Griff.

Trade MoT and KT for Rasheed.

Brand will be nice, but we are over the cap going into next season. The only way we could do it would be via sign and trade. Problem with that is, other teams will have more to offer LA than we do. I know people would want to offer Griffin and Cato, but the problem with that is 1) Griffin will only have trade value if he has a good season and 2) If Griffin does end up having a good season and starts to develop, Im thinking we keep him.

Ill do you one better though. Im not one to normally propose trades, but Ive said this before. Im rooting for Milwaukee to stink it up this year and miss the playoffs. If that happens, Im thinking they will break up their core (Karl, Cassell and ..........(drum roll) .....Ray Allen). If so, Id jump at the chance to get Allen in here and offer Cuttino in return (although the problem is, if Milwaukee is rebuilding ...they probably dont want Cuttino or his contract).

Cuttino plays for a bargain basement contract. There is no team in any situation that would not want him at his current price.

One thing to remember is, Cuttino's contract is escalating. So even though his average salary is roughly $5 mil per, going into next season, his cap figure is closer to $8 mil.

Also, I did not mean to give the impression that Cuttino's contract is a detriment, only a factor. If Milwaukee rebuilds and wants to dump Allen, I think they would do it for a good young player or a high draft pick. Cuttino is a good player, but I dont see Milwaukee wanting to rebuild with or around a player like Cuttino or a player as old as he will be (28 going into next season ...not that thats old ...but Im sure they want to rebuild with players in the 22-25 year old range).

oh give me a freakin' break. i don't care if Wallace is black, white, blue, or purple.

it was the damn facial expression that merited the picture resemblance. If you're reading more into it, than that is your problem.

    PC crap is taking over.

i tell you what, if your minority group is ever hisorically refered to as an animal in order to dehumanize you in order to justify establishment sanctioned racism, then you can say something about my comment....

oh, but wait, you guys are predominately white.

    then your responses are expected.

rasheed wallace is a headcase, no trade. time to move on....

sorry but your logic is flawed. I'm the one that posted the picture and I'm not Caucasian. I am, in fact, from a minority group.

Again if you don't get it, that's your problem. No offense was intended from the comparison whatsoever. I don't know how to state that any clearer.

i tell you what, go outside, find a black man, and ask him if he thinks it is funny to compare a black man to a monkey.

after he gets done beating the **** outta you, come back here and tell me it is my problem. you won't do that will you? whatever minority you are, i am sure you would not like it if someone made a widely known reference about your race. it aint pc, its being civil.

i am being nice, because i get the feeling your not native, and you don't know the history. if you are native and you do know the history, then your just a piece of **** that needs a beat down.

why is it so difficult to admit you mad a bad judgement call , and your sorry? why you gotta be an ass hole?

I don't feel I made a bad judgement call. When I look at people, I don't notice race right away. I've gotten past that.

I am native. I was born and raised my entire life in the U.S. My parents are from another country, but they've lived here for 30+ years. I know the history quite well, thank you. Move on.

You're the one pulling the race card where it doesn't exist. The reason the man and the animal were compared was due to facial expression. If I used John Stockton, would that make you happier? If so, why? Because he is not African American? Maybe its just me, but there's a hint of racism there.

I'm just sick of the PC, oversensitized crap. Its ok for people to compare Caucasians to chimps (that Bush looks like a chimp post right after yours) but not NBA players? Doesn't fly with me.

And if defending one's actions makes one an a-hole, well then I guess I am one.

We can stop now and agree to disagree, but if you're going to keep calling me names, well I'll continue to post. Your call.

drapg - you're off base, either lay off or stop responding. talk rox not your prejudices...and what you said is prejudice, either you're twelve or have way too high an opinion of yourself. and i'm not a minority but am offended by comments such as the one you made.

gram! you're right, we all know that, and it's ridiculous that the comment was posted, and ludicrous that it was defended.

When I saw the picture of the monkey and Rasheed I didn't think
of it saying that Rasheed was a monkey...

    I thought of it as Rasheed acting like a monkey having a temper tantrum;
i.e. technical fouls, yelling at the refs, etc...

Bill Lambier was the same way. But, he's white. Thus gram! wouldn't get
mad if we put a picture of a monkey next to Bill face. Or would you defend
    the white race?

P.S. If you believe in evolution (I don't), then we all monkeys, right? :D

you really don't get it , do you?
it's called history, son. when your ethnic group has a 200+ year history being called a disparaging remark, you tend to take it a little personal. just because you claim to be an evolved person, does not mean you can choose to do and say what you want. i suggested you go out and find a blackman and ask him how he feels about being compared to a chimp. please, do it.

just because someone is making fun of your boyfriend bush, doesn't mean you gotta get all pissed. white people haven't been refered to as chimps for hundreds of years in order to dehumanize them in order to justufy murder and opression. see, you have to take into account history. of course its not a bigdeal to you, because you aint black. therefore you don't see the big deal.

and that is all i am gonna say about it. but if you wanna keep talkin' 'bout it, c'mon up to brooklyn punk, we'll welcome you real good.

but you don't seem to understand. If I'm flat out telling you that race wasn't even considered in the post, why should you be offended? You may have been sensitive at first viewing, but after my explanation, you continue to make your anger shown with threats of violence.

what exactly did I say that was prejudiced? If you're going to talk the talk, please walk the walk and show me.

edit: if anyone wants to carry on this conversation, maybe it should be done in another forum, seeing as how this is the Rockets forum and this thread will probably be locked by an admin soon for veering way off topic.
