i agree, keep artest.. let's see how far this group w/o tmac can go.. if they make it out of the 1st round w/o tmac does that mean tmac is still a 1st round virgin? ;)

LOL that right there is instant classic. Anyways, about trading Artest, I agree that he is a good player and plays hard, but he also takes bad shots and maybe is too aggressive somtimes on defense. I wish we could keep him though, as we are clearly better when he is on his game and with Yao. That being said, not trading him would be the wrong move. It doesn't look like we would be able to retain him in the offseason, and we might as well get something back for him, IMO. I totally disagree with those of you that are saying "trade him cause he can't play with Mac" because that's just crap. They haven't had enough time to play together to get it down, with one or the other always injured. And even when Tracy is in, he is obviously not himself, and a healthy Tracy can still fill it up, trust that. Whether he will be healthy enough before the age factor sets in, I don't know, some talented people are just destined have their career's ended, or cause seriously depleted abilities, by nagging injuries(Grant Hill, Bo Jackson, etc.). Everybody needs to give T-Mac a break though, none of us know the guy personally and know what he's going through or how he feels about this stuff, except for what the media tells us, and who can believe them anyways. In my eyes, if Tracy is a Rocket he has my 100% support, as does Ron Artest. If a move is going to be made by Morey I think as fans we all just have to trust he knows what he's doing and back up our boys 100%, and until a trade actually happens, I'm going to stop speculating.

Yes, it does, as far as playing in a series to advance is concerned because he would have had nothing to do with the outcome of the series.

What will that ever say about T-Mac's ability to help a team win a playoff series?

TMac can't play with anyone on the team anymore he has to go and if it is not for Carter, Morey needs to find a taker. Can't wait for the 19th and see TMac leave the team.

It would not be a mistake to trade him, it depends entirely on whom you get back.

I'm afraid this is a losing battle DD, people are starting to see the light and realize how valuable Artest really is.

No one is disagreeing with you.....Artest is a valuable player, for me it has always been about him and Tmac fitting or rather NOT fitting...if Tmac is out it changes a lot.

Maybe they keep him and trade him in the offseason in a S&T.

I agree, keep Artest. The only person they should trade is Tmac. He does not like to play team ball even when he's walking on one leg. When he is healthy, you can maybe justify his play style but you really shouldn't. Personal stats does not equal winning basketball so don't let the stats fool you. just bench Tmac for the rest of the season and hope his trade value will be higher next season.

pardon my ignorance, but is Artest trade a done deal already?

If so, I don't think its a good idea to trade him for anyone at this point.

The LAST thing we need to give up is defense.
