One could say that it was America paying for the African/Native blood it spilled up to that point. Yea I know...*flame suit on*
basso, it's hilarious how much you revel in your clutchfans, negative attention persona! There is no stopping you! Copy paste copy paste those blogs!
Jeez, are you a tool or what... Obama did not say this during the speech you referenced in your original post. Obama did say this at the beginning of his talk in the home of the man who runs the White House Fellows Program. Here's what he said with full context: So, you take a off-the cuff remark in introductory remarks in an informal setting and try to pass it off as if Obama is trying to say he's tired and wants to go live a life of luxury or something... totally ignoring the context. As if these folks had not already invited the President or he couldn't go anytime he wanted. The self-deprecating humor is obvious in his remarks and completely distorted by you. (For the record, the property is not a house but a resort/convention center that the guy wants to use to host meetings between leaders of state and diplomatic gatherings.) Furthermore, you pop this out after I called BS on your original post where you tried to imply that Obama said something he didn't say which you tried to pass off as needing a break from his supporters because he didn't accomplish anything. The first try is flat out wrong and this second try is absolutely wrong within context, and of course, both come from intentionally misinterpreted wingnut blogs. That every public speaker, not to mention every past President, voices remarks like this seems lost on you.
yeah what does that even mean? I repeat my question, why are you pointing out the pronunciation of a word?
I'm guessing he means that Obama is not "Like A Rock" Or.... could he mean that Obama is not.... "Against The Wind" "Making Thunderbirds" "Still The Same" "A Ramblin, Gamblin Man" "The Fire Down Below" "Mary Lou" "Katmandu" "Beautiful Loser" "Travelin Man" ????????
because he's "dumbing" it down, trying to sound colloquial, folksy, when we all know that's not who Obama is. have the courage of your disdain, or don't deign to speak fo' us.
Ah....workin' and practicin'..on the Night Moves. Nice. From a liberal, socialist, left-wing tree-hugger, I must respectfully disagree with your choice of an Obama put-down. However, you get bonus points for the Bob Seger reference.
Would you say the same about Lincoln, who could regale the guys behind the courthouse with tall tales just after he had won a case inside the courthouse with a well-reasoned, well-researched, and well-delivered argument? Was Lincoln a phony because he talked in the common vernacular one moment and used the argot of the practicing lawyer the next?
lincoln came by his folkiness honestly. and obama, despite presiding over the "most challenging period in american history [paraphrasing Rham]" is no lincoln.
Yeah, being raised by your grandparents in Hawaii is so much more elitist than growing up in Kennebunkport.
yeah, bush's andover, princeton, west texas accent was real sincere. he sounds just like his dad, and jeb. nucalear
Right. You have some footage of this? Hung out with the man? You two were such close chums that you knew personally that he never pandered to an audience and his "folkiness" was 100% genuine? Good. I thought you were just making an outrageous claim that could never be proven. Phew... close one there.
