You can buy a home on a border town in Mexico for like 10gs. I went down there recently and got the flu. Went to the pharmacy and paid like 7 bucks for a penicillin shot. Paid 2 bucks to the nurse to administer. 100% cured the next morning. Only thing about Mexico though is a drug dealer might chop your head off.
I would think that 3rd world countries would be more prone to civil unrest, especially during uncertain times.
Dual citizenship is much easier than most people realize. Most Western countries won't give you any problem for it. My sister-in-law did have to surrender her Chinese citizenship when she became American though. But, I don't think hiding in a third world country is the best rainy-day solution. They say when the US gets a cold, Mexico gets the flu. I think you'll see a phenomenon like that the world over, with poor countries taking the worst hit.
you're right, here's what i found on a quick google search, which includes a list: http://www.us-immigration.com/information/dual_citizenship.html
I used to have dual citizenship. But thanks to having to work in the defense industry, I had to drop my foreign citizenship. Now I can't even visit my mother country because they don't accept U.S. passport or don't give out Visa.

obviously u have to choose wisely so i would stay away from mexico at any cost because thats as corrupt and unstable a future as u can get plus its too tied up to the US. not all countries have same dependece on US economy and defense. so what would criteria be for picking a second country for a rainy day? i would for example pick costa rica and chile in latin america if i had to stay in the western hemisphere if i go east there are a lot more choices but one really solid place is new zealand or almost any of the sleepy and quite central asia countries like turkmenistan or kyrgystan. so i would pick countries that have not yet been too polluted with globalizatoin and have somewhat stable regimes any other countries fit this criteria? i do have a friend from turkmenistan and shes half russian and half azerbijani and turkic and on top of being gorgeous her country appeals to me :-D (she showed me pics from ashgabat and its beautiful but only drawback is its really cold) beautiful women is also a plus so laos may be out of pic
belize? they speak english peru? lots of history cheap and somewhat stable definitely philippines cause they are nicest people i ever met and very welcoming of others uruguay? dont know much about it but seems stable and cheap iceland? can attain lifelong dream of being a banker while freezing my ass off hungary and romania? dont know much about them but i see them on the map so they must exist
Do you know if she would like to have a little Mexican in her? I mean I have lots of single friends... is what I mean.
if i can have dual citizenship in US and China, i would do it. but as of now, i just can't give up my Chinese citizenship. it's easy to get US citizenship, i don't think i can get my Chinese citizenship back if i give it up. so ya, other than being loyal as hell, it's also very inconvenient to give up Chinese citizenship. right now, i don't need any documents to travel between China and US because i am a citizen there, and a permanent resident here. it's so cool to travel around without ever being questioned by authority.
I'm really not rich and I live in Canada. It's not a poor country and people live pretty well here. It just depends where you live, if you live in some Jamaicain place in Toronto it's pretty dangerous and really ghetto. Same for some place in Montreal.
I think this is a very cowardly way to be. If you require dual citizenship because you originate from another country that is perfectly acceptable but if you are looking into dual citizenship in order to run away at first sign of trouble......
If I wanted to buy a house in Mexico.....do I have to do something other than marrying one of my friends there to really own it? I'm a Mexican American...born and raised in Texas.
