I am surprised at how competent Bud looked on D given the talks about how he needed to improve on that end to get minutes. The guy seems to be in the right place most, if not all of the time. I guess he did follow Adelman's orders about watching Battier.

Can we get a poll to see if Chase is also better looking than Von?

yea...me and my friends are calling him 'Larry'...because he reminds us a lot of you-know-who...but with a quicker move to the basket and hops.

    Who?

I sure know you're not talking about Larry Bird lol.

Chase plays a lot like Rip Hamilton...I'm sure though he and Larry look more alike.

It should be the Von Hawk vs Chase's "goldenlocks".....you know down the road the Rockets are going to start handing out blonde wigs ala the Scola ones

A complete upgrade IMO. Besides his hot shooting and varied offensive moves, Budinger has been very good moving without the ball; he gets himself in the right places on the court and makes the correct decisions when he receives the pass. Rarely do you see him trying to force the issue.

Not to criticize Wafer but he was years away from developing this kind of court awareness, if ever.

Also, because of his passing skills, Budinger is already developing excellent chemistry with Lowry, who is playing some great b-ball himself. The ball movement in that second unit is really at a high level and a true pleasure to watch. It actually reminds me of what I saw happening during the few times Lowry and Barry played together last season.

You're selling Bud short. In the thread title, would you consider substituting T-Mac for Wafer?!! :D

Von never passed the ball once he got it, Chase is more of a team player, I'll take C-bud over von any day.

It's almost like every shot out of his hands is going to go in.

If rockets offered 3 million, they might have kept Von. I remember a lot here cried for keeping him with that kind of money, especially during the season when Von put on a show.

What a mistake that would have been!
Budinger is way way better than Von. Von has some fire in him, along with some stupidity. Budinger plays within the system, quality you dream for a role player.

Reports out of Greece are that Wafer was cut by Olympiacos due to poor play.
