Air Bud was the national high school volleyball player of the year a few years back and he can really jump. He was also the runner up for 2006 McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Contest. He can shoot better, defend better and I think can dunk better than Vonhawk.

LOL DD actually said he wasn't impressed with Chase. Only jumped on the Chase bandwagon after he started tearin' it up in SL. Then he got carried away and started pulling the train himself :D

But that's alright. I actually thought JT would be better than Wafer this season :p

How can your videos make so much sense but your normal posts...don't? Tmac was walking the ball because we played half-court bball. You know, the kind that the Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, Pistons and basically every team that won a title the last decade play? How can it lead to failure when every team who won for the last decade or so played that style?

It wasn't the style that brought JVG's team down, it was lack of talent and injuries. Tmac dominated the ball like he did because that roster sucked, Rafer was like the 3rd best player on that squad (before Battier came). Its too late for Tmac to change his play but I don't know how that can be detrimental, our pgs are still figuring it out.

Camby is overated, Chuck Hayes is a better player than he is.

i dont think playmaking will be needed this season. we have a team of guys who are willing to share the ball and are very efficient on offense now.

Camby makes this team better, it gives us a shot blocking big who can also shoot the midrange, and run.

And if Tracy can not change his style, then he should be shipped out ASAP.

Your out of your mind if you think Chase can dunk anywhere near as good as Von.

    Can Chase do this:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JC4am-LYgtg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JC4am-LYgtg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lozBPqMGKlY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lozBPqMGKlY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    I don't think so.

Why is the board infatuated with comparing a 2 guard who was a journeyman nobody before his stint with the Rox to a rookie swingman who's more of a 3? I find them very different even if their roles off the bench were scoring.

Chase is going to have a better start to his NBA career because he has a great foundation to learn from the get go; great coaching staff and veterans like Battier showing him the ropes. Von could have used a similar situation at the beginning of his career but I think he got lost in the numbers game.

There is nothing wrong with a reverse layup either. :)

This type of ignorance from McGrady apologists is downright disgusting. Even if we have a half-court offense, we should take advantage of fast break opportunities when they present themselves. No coach will ever say anything to the contrary.

I didn't watch the Pistons title series, but the Spurs, Celtics, and Lakers all took advantage of fast breaks whenever possible.

McGrady doesn't. He's the type of player who will get a long rebound and then walk it up the court.

Good call. Both would have been good. Don't hate on Von Wafer just cause you want to see DD be wrong.

I don't really understand why you're saying this. I look at his college numbers in the link you posted and I see a player who played pretty heavy minutes and still had a 2Pt% well over 50%, a guy who increased his 3Pt shooting average every year at Arizona, shooting 40% his last season, a guy who averaged over 5.5 rebounds a game, 3 assists, and more than 1 steal, didn't turn the ball over, and didn't foul. Honestly, his Arizona numbers are outstanding and, again, got better every year.

What's not to like? He's not a shot blocker? I'll concede that, but Chase has already shown me more than I expected on defense. We don't know how good the guy can be. Sure, he may end up "a very good 2nd tier player who will never reach All-star level," which would make him an absolute steal, but who can say what his ceiling is?

Chase is better than Von already.

Chase is young so it's hard to predict what he will develop into.

His hops won't last, but that's ok.

I think the question is will he be a solid role-player or can he build towards being a starter and perhaps an all-star? I see the potential that's for sure...but we've seen a lot of guys with potential get us excited.

I think though, this kid is going to be fun to watch for a while. Just enjoy it. Right now, he's a role-player, and he does what role players are suppose to do. Hustle, cut, make open shots, and be scrappy. Forget about his being a leader or anything, that's way to much to expect form a rookie kid just playing his first few games.
