I can appreciate that this issue hits home and gets you emotional. But you keep asking me to check my facts first. I did read the whole article. I just misunderstood the part about the alarm going off. I thought that happened after he showed it to the teacher. So please stop trying to misconstrue a simple mistake on my part as willful ignorance or laziness.

And go back and re-read my post. I DIDN'T make any conclusions. I just mentioned something that made me wonder slightly at his motives, but certainly didn't accuse the kid of anything. Don't let your emotions ascribe statements to people that they didn't make. I was simply trying to discuss the situation and pointing out something that to me felt relevant.

Didn't proceed so didn't see those. But wow. Sadly some are too easily or willingly fooled.

Typically racists like GlenDice (who I can only assume named himself because he wants to bang Sarah Palin, but his nads are the size of dice and his obvious racism is due to his self-consciousness about having to have tweezers handy if he wants to pee) are gullible and easily fooled. Racism and ignorance typically go hand-in-hand.

The teachers did the right thing to report this kid to authority. Better safe then sorry.

and you're lying if you say that the first thing that comes to your mind when seeing that picture is a clock.

That's about 6 inches by 4 inches right? That pic makes it look like a briefcase.

And no, it doesn't look like a bomb to me, nor does it scare me. If it was a destraction, i would have just confiscated it.

I wouldn't have guessed it was a clock, but if he told me it was just a clock, I probably wouldn't have marched him on a perp walk in handcuffs through the halls of his high school to spend the day in juvee while I talked to the DA about terrorism charges. I'd probably talk to the science teacher about how it worked and then sent it to a police forensics lab to verify, knowing all the while that I had the student's information if the lab came back with genuine concerns.

the 1st thing that came to my mind is not bomb or something dangerous either, looks like one of those DIY electronic projects (Arduino, Raspberry Pi etc) to me.

Also like Kim already pointed out, the previous cropped image make this thing look like a freaking brief case, but in actuality its closer to the size of a cell phone.

    Oh boy.

Here we go. The nerdy armchair experts have come out to play, led by their queen Joan Valdez.

I am absolutely ecstatic with the way this issue was addressed. A kid brought a device that looks like a bomb to school and he was promptly apprehended. 10 times out of 10, with the way this country has deteriorated in regards to this issue, it is better to be safe than sorry. And 10 times out of 10, the overweight pansies who have never been in such a scenario will come on the internet to act outraged and blame the police.

Does it help that he's muslim (bombs galore) and has a menacing look? No, not really. But being judged based on flaws is part of life and he learnt a valuable life lesson.

Excellent work by the school district and police department for releasing him immediately. Hopefully he gets an F for belligerence and the social justice nerds continue with their miserable, but safe lives thanks to safety measures like these.

Agree, remember when those marines in europe stereotyped a muslim man on a train, they ended up saving 100's of lives. Better safe then sorry.

YET - we don't have gun controls.

What the hell are you talking about?
Are you talking about the recent French train incident? No "stereotyping" was needed in that case. The terrorist came out of a bathroom with his AK and a French passenger tried to take him down. During the struggle with the French passenger, he fired of several rounds and that's when the soldiers got involved (not marines by the way).

Just placed a sizeable donation to the Irving Police Department and let them know they did nothing wrong here. Have a few missed calls to the school superintendent, can't wait to let him know the opinion of a man with actual clout.

Sometimes the bigger man has to come off as the bad guy to keep his citizens safe. Anyone with half a brain and some cajones hanging between his legs knows in certain cases, measures that seem extreme have to take place. In reality - it wasn't a big deal. He was in and out of juve, the situation was handled, and everyone except social media nerds and dem politicians leeching onto any supposed injustice they can moved on.

I won't bother posting the numerous images from Al Qaeda and other muslim based publications on how to make and distribute bombs over the internet.

    http://www.terrorismanalysts.com/pt/index.php/pot/article/view/241/html

Muslims need to take accountability for how they are perceived and not play ignorant. It's like going to a baseball game and getting hurt because you weren't prepared for a foul ball to come your way. Don't stay in the kitchen if you can't stand the heat. If you don't like it - attack the extremists instead of letting them hijack your religion. Quit the anti-America talk at US based mosque's and snarky comments towards whites. It's innocent people like Mohammed who pay the price.
