This isn't cool. When did it become okay to throw this stuff around?

I don't see the reason for the Juwan Howard hate on this board. He just has a set of skills not matched to the needs of this particular team. He is by no means a scrub or a bad guy.

Should he be traded? Yes. Does he suck? No.

You're right, it's not okay. I finally got to use the "report" button.

You guys are right it wasn't cool. I apologize to whoever has taken it personally. I was just joking around and didn't mean to offend anyone.

Ironically, I was going to post that I'm sure this is exactly why people insist on spelling his name Juwon. We've been typing OlaJUWON for years.

    :)

OMG. he just put a different spelling on it. i don't think it was meant as a racial slur. jesus. oh, did i just use the word jesus? report me. someone else posted "jujuan". why didn't you give them any crap for that? b/c that could have possibly been insulting to hispanics.

Well, this topic has been beaten to death. However, no one has brought in a literary reference to Juwan's name.

George Gordon, Sixth Lord Byron, wrote an epic poem called "Don Juan." In Byron's day, the English and French pronounced the name "joo-wan." Without pronouncing it that way, the meter and rhyme scheme are ruined.

Perhaps Howard's parents had a literary bent, and that's how they saw their infant son -- as the next Don Juan.

There. Now we can take this worn out thread down a new trail. ;)

Since this appears to be a venting thread, I'd just like to point out that "DOMINATE" is a verb, while "DOMINANT" is an adjective. It is thus impossible to BE dominate.

See the tag below? You're in MY world now, grandma.

    More spelling/grammar lessons:

    1) Ridiculous: Stop spelling it "rediculous". The Redick threads are DONE. Your alternate spelling rights have been revoked.
    2) Your vs. You're: Here, I'll help you out... If you're a bad speller, you'll lose your credibility quickly on CF.net. Got it?
    3) Weird: Stop spelling it "wierd". You're freaking me out.
    4) Carroll Dawson: The extra "R" is for "r****d". The extra "L" is for "loser".
    5) Antidisestablishmentarianism: C'mon, now. Is it really that hard to spell?

    6) "Dominate" is a verb, not an adjective. We want Yao to dominate games every night. We want Yao to be a dominant center. Wanting him to become a "dominate basketball player" makes no damn sense.

    7) If you don't give a damn about something, then you couldn't care less about it. If you "could care less," then you're implying you care about it to some extent.
