Well, he can say where he likes, he is not under contract, the team's can't comment but he can.

Mark my words, NONE of us *really* know.

If you dont like seeing others talk about the POSSIBILITY, feel free to click away...those of you who dont think it will happen have stated your positions, now just shut up for a while till we see what happens over the next week or two. Yall are twice as irritating as the ones who think they *know* it is a foregone conclusion.

    Conundrum,

Anyone can see that Bosh probably isn't coming here. It's obvious. But the team owes it to itself and its fans to make a run at a player like him. Sometimes players change their minds. At the same time, they should pursue other options that are more likely to pan out, such as Jefferson. But throwing one's hands up in the air and giving up on signing a player you think would be great for your franchise -- as the Rockets consider Bosh to be -- is a loser's mentality, not the kind of attitude that leads to championships.

Look everyone knows the score, and the possibilities, and things are prone to change once the offers start actually happening.

However, the Rockets the last few years have done a whole lot of viral marketing to their fans as they, ehem, "Pursue" free agents.

They did it with Gortat last year, they had people sending him tweets, they are doing it with Bosh this year....

It is not a big deal, if you have the free time to do it, go ahead.....

The team needs to keep the interest up during the long offseason, and this is a great way for the fans to participate etc.

And, hey, who knows...maybe one day it will actually work.

It certainly can not HURT to do it.

The Rockets are just doing their due diligence .
They have to at least TRY. It does not hurt.
    Its a very very longshot.

    With all that said,

BOSH IS NOT COMING TO HOUSTON.

It makes sense for him to go team up with Wade or LBJ and play games in June.

Who cares about that "alpha dog" nonsense. Bosh knows good and well he is a very good player not a soon to be HOF. It is what it is. He will be fine making 18million dollars a year while being a "Pau Gasol" type of player while playing in June.

Playing with Yao is no excitement ...he is injured all the time . When he is comes back this season he can only play 25 mins/gm , what a joke if you want to be a contender or play in June.

Honestly, I dont think its over yet for Bosh or any max player for us. Just like some said, I think its still kinda early for guessing this stuff, we just all gotta wait till Thursday and then go from there. Right now we can all get each others dreams up or down, play the mind game, etc...we wont start to know anything till July 1, and I just think nothing is over for us since we have the best GM in the league.

Do we become a Championship caliber team if instead of Bosh we get Al Jefferson ..
I do think so if Jefferson is back to his pre-injury form.

It does not make sense for Bosh to leave $30m on the table to do so, however.

Yeah, there's no chance of the Rockets' current roster + Bosh playing in June.

Yea there is no chance the current roster plus Bosh will play in June. Roll eyes all you want to but they will not be playing in June. Take your homer glasses off.

Funny you make no comment on Yao's injury status or what players we have to give up to get Bosh.

    Take your homer glasses off.

He isn't leaving $30 million, if he signs a contract with an opt out by year 3 he can make up all of that money and then some....

The $30 million figure is a fun little media fact that is not really all that well thought out.

I think Yao will be in decent shape following this surgery, much like the precedent (Ilgauskas) was. Also, it's hilarious you act as if Bosh can sign with Miami or Chicago straight up, yet act as if the Rockets' would have to surrender a king's ransom to get him in a sign and trade.

A roster of Brooks, Martin, Ariza, Bosh and Yao with Scola, Lowry and Battier/Budinger off the bench would be one of the 3-4 most talented teams in the NBA. That's enough for me to give them a chance.

So what if he blows out a knee by then and declines early, much like Jermaine O'Neal? Unless you're LeBron James, there is next-to-zero precedent for turning down a guaranteed seven-year, $130m deal. And the risk is even greater this year, with owners expected to come down hard on maximum salaries and in particular the length of contracts in the upcoming collective bargaining.

Look at the top free agents year by year, and other than a once-in-a-generation talent like LeBron, tell me what elite ones turned down the full max in a seven-year deal. Daryl Morey asked that EXACT question himself at the trade deadline - think he might know what he's talking about?

That is why they sign a 6 year FA contract with a PLAYER option after year 3.

    Two questions.

    1.) Outside of LeBron, who?

2.) Why would you not sign a seven-year FA contract with that SAME PLAYER OPTION after year 3? The name of the game in the NBA, much like all sports, is guaranteed money. Unless you're a LeBron-type transcendent talent, you do not leave $30m in guaranteed money on the table. There's just no precedent for it happening.
