I was actually pulling for the Rockets tonight. You see, I was willing to pay to see a win there in San Antonio. But everytime the Rockets play in SA, they get their asses kicked. So I figured the Rockets would either win, or the Spurs would blow them out. And in reality, the Spurs blew out the Rockets tonight. But the Spurs got complacent and let the Rockets score some meaningless points in the end. At the end of the day I paid to see a blowout that ended in a loss for me because the spurs didn't cover in the end. This has to be the most f'ed up way to lose a sports bet. Thank god I didn't bet a lot.
Ha! Over on the Kings board on RealGM I proposed a Sura/Wesley sign and trade for Mobley at 8mil/year. They were all over it. Too bad it'd never happen in real life.
I'd love to see JB get more shots. I want to see Head either a starter, or playing much more significant minutes. Like have him come in earlier. I also want to see more of swift. What's up with Howard lately. All he does is sit there up top of the key and only holds the ball and looks to pass, he doesn't even try to make it look like he might attempt to dribble it and perhaps make a shot for himself.
I completely agree with DD. We need change and we need it fast! If there is a way to get Mobley back on this team... we should do it... Man oh mighty do we need help!
DaDakota, I think it was obvious last year that after significant changes it takes a while for chemistry to develop in our/JVG's system. Whether the players are learning, JVG's learning, or both...I don't care. But look how s****y our offense looked early last year and how good it was by the end. We have averaged 87.5 points so far within 0.6 points of last year's first 8 games, and last April we averaged 101.
He got one last night. The most exciting moment of the night for me. Can't remember which quarter but if you go back and look at the tape you will see a pick from Yao, a pass from TMAC to Yao rolling to the basket.
Agree with the post Wesley can not play defense and his shot is so ugly right now I dont trust him I dont know how JVG does and DA man I thought we were getting more but clearly this guy is not what he used to be, I do like the Alston trade for the fact it would be lose lose situation if we wouldnt have traded we would be talking right now how we need a true PG to run this team vice versa but in the long run I think Alston is the right pg for the team he is just to passive right now.
Cohen, No doubt, and that is with a completely healthy Tmac......right now it is clear he is laboring, and not attacking the rim......but I am more concerned about our perimeter defense....it is really bad....and Anderson and Alston were supposed to help shore that up....and it is actually worse than last year. DD
This "team" is about what I expected. While their level play is certain to get better as the season unfolds, they are in no way ready to truly contend. That's because they carry the same weaknesses from season to season: PG,SG,PF. Until they address the talent deficiency at these 3 positions, they will remain stuck in the place they are stuck in now. I am really dreading tonight's game with the Pistons...
It's early, we don't have any idea how good or bad this team really is, but whatever they are we're probably stuck with them this season. Some people want to bring up last season because we started out slowly too and then improved during the season, but the HUGE difference is we started with a completely different roster than we finished up with. It's not like the same guys just started playing better, the Rockets traded for better guys and that's the reason why the team improved, nothing to do with chemistry IMO. Now, do you guys see Bobby Sura coming back as strong as he did last season? A David Wesley trade? Jon Barry trade? Another Mike James trade? Do the Rockets even need that much of a boost again this season? Or do they just wait for the players that are here to come around? I have no idea... I'm not giving up on this team though, they're still playing defense that gives T-Mac and Yao a chance to steal some wins down the stretch until everyone else catches up.
